  • CBTL pods do work with a Verismo machine if you are willing to modify your approach.
Flavor Name: Caramel-like Size: 16 Count (Pack of 1)
Like others, I am trying to replace Verismo pods with CBTL pods. This is my experience: My Verismo does not seem to be able pierce the CBTL pods so I ended up with no coffee output or coffee in the hopper that collects the pods. The second thing that occurred: as with some other customers, the pods stuck in the Verismo machine and they are very difficult to remove. I managed to get around both problems by piercing both ends of the CBTL pod, which allows the water to flow through the pod and into your cup. I leave the pod in the machine until it cools a bit, then I eject the pod and the pod drops into the hopper every time for me. I like the coffee that it makes so I’ll continue to use the CBTL pods. The only pods I’ve used so far are the premium espresso but I’m assuming that the other coffee pod offerings will work also. ... show more

  • Great Cup of Coffee
Flavor Name: Espresso Size: 16 Count (Pack of 1)
The CBTL Costa Rica Brew is not too strong and not too mild....to quote Goldilocks, it's just right! While all of the CBTL coffees that I have tried have been good, this is my go to blend; my morning cup of joe. The only short coming is that it is not always available. In my neck of the woods, the only source besides Amazon is BB&B and that can be hit and miss. Which, in my humble opinion, is really a shame because the CBTL along with the CAFFITALY machine makes a better cup of coffee than the Keurig K-cup....again, in my opinion. Keurig has done one heck of a job merchandising. So, if you like a good cup of coffee but can't afford daily trips to the local coffee shop (you know who I mean) then go with the CBTL and CAFFITALY. Oh, one more thing. I'm told the the CAFFITALY machine makes a much better cup of expresso than the K-cup (something to do with the higher pressure of the CAFFITALY machine). But as I'm not an expresso aficionado, I'll leave verification of that to others. ... show more

  • Outstanding Espresso (with an occasional bit of effort)
Flavor Name: Caramel-like Size: 16 Count (Pack of 1)
Of the finest Espresso I’ve ever pulled from my Verismo. I too have experienced pods that fail to properly eject, but the fix is easy. If a pod gets stuck, just use a short paring knife or equivalent to catch the lip of the pod, and out it pops! The quality and consistency of the Espresso, combined with the price-per-pod, makes the random pod-sticking a very minor inconvenience. I have purchased/purchased and repurchased with no foreseeable intention of ever switching back to Starbucks. ... show more

  • Costa Rica blend coffee by CBTL
Flavor Name: Espresso Size: 16 Count (Pack of 1)
CBTL Costa Rica Brew Coffee Capsules By The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, 16-Count Box This version of the CBTL coffee pods is very good. I buy it regularly along with other brews from CBTL. It is kind of mid-range darkness. It is not watery and tastes good. This Costa Rica Brew is flavorful and brews so much better than any K-Cups version I have tried. I believe the CBTL brews with more force and heat which brews the quality coffee found in these pods better than the other popular brand found almost everywhere. There are 16 capsules in the box which works out mathematically to be a bit less than a dollar a serving. It is definitely on par with the other brand I have also used, but again the coffee just tastes so much better. Otherwise I would not go through the challenge of sourcing this brand. It is not exactly found everywhere. The smell of the coffee after it has brewed is very nice. It smells exactly the way you would want your coffee to smell as long as you like non-flavored coffees. The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf company has been around for more than 45 years. I really enjoy getting a cup of coffee from their shops, but sadly there are none nearby me currently. These coffee pods fill the gap for me. Buy this, drop a pod in your CBTL machine and enjoy your cup ‘o joe. If you found my review helpful I would appreciate that you click the “Yes” button to let me know that I am providing useful information to you and others. . ... show more

  • Great taste! You can use one pod for double ...
Flavor Name: Caramel-like Size: 16 Count (Pack of 1)
The product itself gets 5 stars. Great taste! You can use one pod for double shots as well. I bought these to try in my Verismo V machine. They work just fine, but just be aware of a few things. When closing the latch use a firm and deliberate motion. I wait about 10 seconds after the machine is done before I open the latch. I open the latch slowly, and they drop right into the catch tray. On occasion they will get stuck, but usually a re-close and re-open procedure does the trick. All in all the little foibles are easy to put up with to save money over the Verismo pods. ... show more

  • Original expiration dates altered or changed!
Flavor Name: Caramel-like Size: 16 Count (Pack of 1)
I’ve been ordering coffee for years from Amazon and today I went to re-order and the item was “under review” and I was unable to order. I started to read the reviews and read that an expiration date was change. Low and behold the boxes from my last shipment had a stamped on expiration date of 6/22/2013 and a sticker was placed over the top with a date of 9/14/2014. I received this item almost 8 months after the original date. My wife is 8 months pregnant and spent the last two day in the hospital due to pre labor contractions, fever and abdominal pain. Unexplained was the cause. Luckily the baby didn’t arrive yet and everything is ok today. I’m in no way saying the coffee was the cause but it sure makes you stop and think about it though and how sometimes greed can take over common since. It’s sure something I’m going to look into and I hope Amazon will too and come up with some answers soon. My CBTL espresso machine has been great but the only downside is there are no retail outlets to buy pods so you have to buy online. Now I can’t even by online or trust what I am buying so it might be time to look at a different brand of espresso machine. ... show more

  • Works in Starbucks Verismo Machine
Flavor Name: Caramel-like Size: 16 Count (Pack of 1)
I discovered these after reading reviews here that they work in Starbucks Verismo machines. Starbucks discontinued pods for their own machine. A few reviewers mentioned that the pods occassiinally get stuck, and that does happen.. It help to lift the handle slowly when done, and letting it cool off a big before moving. ... show more
