Description
Terra Sahara drains water easily to provide a suitable environment for desert-dwelling plants. The soil’s composition keeps the surface warm and dry. When paired with plants and clean-up crew, this substrate recycles waste, returning nutrients to the soil for a clean, thriving bioactive ecosystem. Terra Sahara holds burrows and tunnels, keeping humidity below the surface to support reptile hydration and shedding in dry, hot environments. Rather than simple loose sand, this reptile safe soil imitates the dried, rocky terrain inhabited by common pet reptiles in their native habitats. All the tools to create robust bioactive terrariums for reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrate pets are here at The Bio Dude. The Bio Dude makes advanced pet care accessible for beginners and experts alike. We are a small business, serving since 2017 with 20 associates in Houston, Texas. Handmade, hand‑inspected, and hand‑packaged, our USA‑made substrates reflect our commitment to ethical, sustainable practices. Each purchase helps us support Responsible Reptile Keeping and USARK. Guided by our mission "to provide the best care, rather than basic care, using research‑driven practices and techniques,” we offer keepers a growing library of free educational resources. Watch your pets as they dig, forage, and explore in a pocket of nature, created using The Bio Dude’s bioactive soils, biodegradables, and natural decor like cork wood pieces. Our signature substrates support the husbandry of a range of species including leopard geckos, ball pythons, or bearded dragons. Tannin-rich leaf litter and soil inoculants that contain beneficial mycorrhizae jumpstart your plants and clean-up crew.
