  • Great machine!
This was purchased, for our rough and tumble 9 year old grandson, for Christmas, after he showed great interest in learning. In the few hours that I had with him, I taught him the proper threading, bobbin winding and insertion. This little machine has a great stitch. The bobbin is not a drop in, which concerned me, but I loved the fact that bobbin case is metal, and proper insertion of the bobbin didn’t prove to be problematic for him, after a few trials and errors. The enclosed booklet is simple to understand with drawings to illustrate each step. He took the machine home, and continues to use it without adult help, currently making a flannel quilt and doing family clothing repairs. We are all pleased. ... show more

  • Easy for newbie’s
I’m just starting to sew more and this has made it simple for me. Easy to thread and self explanatory. Still learning all the different stitch styles

  • Good for crafting and repairs
Good for what I need: straight and zig zag stitching for crafts. The tension is good, and the size is perfect. My only complaint is that when I loaded the bobbin and threaded the needle for the first time (I haven’t used a sewing machine for 40 years), I had a little trouble with the instructions. The problem being that some of the parts in the instructions were referred to by different names from the terms used in the diagram. I assumed there would be a video online, but I couldn’t find one. Anyway, I finally figured it out. ... show more

  • Easy and very reasonably priced.
Set and instruction easy to follow. Took a little bit to thread needle. Got to have nimble fingers and good eye sight. Lighting a must. The machines build in light isn't as bright as I would prefer.

  • So much room for activities
This is a solid beginner machine. The free arm has so much room, competitors had nothing in this. Just a few basic stitch patterns is all that’s needed for 98% of what people need. Simple, sturdy and easy to figure out. Highly recommend.

  • Durable
This Beginner Sewing Machine, The Believe by American Home, Portable Basic Sewing Machine, 12 Built-in Stitches, AH600, it's pretty durable and looks to be heavy duty despite being for the beginner. However, it does not come with any sewing threads, just the sewing machine. There are a few accessories that are hidden in a box compartment that you have to take out. It is right next to the sewing needle part. I am a beginner, and I like that it has a lot of different thread styles, and there's a light whenever the machine is on. However, being a beginner, I didn't understand why sometimes when pressing the pedal, it doesn't work, and other times it works. Nevertheless, I think this is a pretty good sewing machine for $200, and it has a purported 25-year limited warranty. ... show more
