I have the full size Beast blender also and it is fantastic. But this smaller form factor was very appealing to me, I have a small kitchen. And the terra cotta color is awesome and looks great on the counter next to my Wonder Oven in the same family of shades, from Our Place. The mini seems to be programed to run its auto cycle for longer than the 1 minute cycle of the larger version, but works just as well for my daily coffee shakes, which are made with ice cubes blended up. The only thing I like less is that the screw-on blender cap is no longer made with a silicone grippy part, which is much easier to work with in closing the cap tight before blending, especially with arthritic hands. But the latest iteration of the larger Beast also does not have that grippy bit, on the blender cap although it is still on other caps of both models. Aside from the great color, full functionality, smaller form factor which is awesome, I also really love the cap for drinks that is made for a straw to poke through, and the matching straws provided. I am keeping an eye out for additional straws to become available as accessories on the website, the machine comes with 2. There is SO much to LOVE about this blender!! But I would say the one single thing that hands-down sold me on it is the fact that it handles kale and ginger beautifully. No yucky bits of fiber left behind to get stuck in your teeth! And I don't even have to do the whole 1 minute blend cycle! I've tried SO many blenders and nothing but my vita mix blender (until now) can really pulverize super fibrous content the way I prefer it. That aside, there are several other things that put the Beast blender a notch above the vita mix for me: • CLEAN UP: It doesn't get easier than blending in the actual cup you're going to be drinking from. • TO-GO LIDS: The fact that there's so many lid options also means there's no excuse not to take it on the go when I'm pressed for time. • PORTIONING: With my larger blenders, I tend to over portion when I'm eyeballing my ingredients. On one hand, it's not a big deal, I just refrigerate the extra for later, but on the other hand, it's been SO nice not to have that problem with the Beast because the cup size does the portioning for you. No more oxidized half-stale smoothies or unnecessary clean up! • SIZE: Even with 3 cup sizes to choose from and all the cute accessories, my Beast blender takes up less cabinet space than my Vitamix. A BIG win for tiny apartment living. • AESTHETICS: Do I even need to explain this one? I feel like a bonafide ~aesthetic princess~ when I drink from my Beast vessels. I could go on... the attention paid to design details like the textural contrast between the materials, the eco friendly protective packaging... Overall, I just think that this is a premium product and for $120, it's actually a steal. [UPDATE 3 WEEKS LATER] I've been using this blender practically every day for 3 weeks and it's just a charm. This is seriously my favorite blender EVER. No issues with kale or ginger fibers getting stuck in the crevices of the blade component at all, I've had this issue with other blenders, so I always check. If you are like me and usually only make smoothies or blend things for 1-2 servings this is going to be the blender for you. I've been eying the regular sized Beast for quite some time, but when they released The Beast Mini Blender Plus I knew it was finally time to commit. The blender comes with 3 different sized containers that can all be screwed on and used interchangeably. The kit contains all the products you'll need to help clean your blender as well such as a brush to clean off the blade and straws. The blender is strong, but also a bit loud, it would definitely wake someone up in the morning if you decide to use it. The blender is easy to maintain and clean as well and doesn't take up much more space than a soda stream. I've noticed that the blade works best when not using huge chunks of ice, but can still handle a lot. I mainly use mine to make protein shakes daily and have not had any issues so far. ... show more

Wow! That was my first impression unboxing this thing. It is a stout and well-built item. The base motor has a good weight to it that helps keep it from tipping over. The glass containers, of varying sizes, offer great flexibility. I like how the grip area of the containers is ribbed for grip and to identify which end you are actually unscrewing. The kit offers various lids for both storage and or using a straw (two are included along with a pipe cleaner). I ordered the terra colored version that is a nice burnt orange look. Has a flat finish that also makes it easy to grip. Note a label that indicates pusing the power button for less than a second offers a pulse mode. Clicking on it longer starts the normal blending cycle. You can easily click it again to stop blending. I've made some frozen drinks with ice, ice cream, fruit and milk -- came out wonderfully! Don't hesitate on this one and I plan to order some additional containers. ... show more

I just love the colors these come in. I realize this falls under "appearance", but if it's going to live on my counter I want it to look nice. Every piece comes apart so it can be put in the dishwasher. It comes with 3 different size jars to blend in and the lid can be closed in case something needs to be stored in the fridge until later. First try I chopped ice for my smoothie - worked like a charm. You can either use the button to pulse blend or press down to have it stay on. It blended ice with ease. There are warnings about what not to blend (shells, pits etc., pretty obvious) but for what I needed it for it worked great - mainly smoothies and dressings. All the parts went on the top rack in the dishwasher and I had no issue with cloudiness or hot water damage. ... show more
