My daughter really wanted this for her birthday and I am so glad I purchased this for her. She loves this perfume lab! The kit comes with everything you need and has easy to understand illustrated instructions. My daughter set up the pink plastic lab station and decorated it with the included stickers. There are 6 scented perfume packs : lemon, cinnamon, chocolate, peppermint, cotton candy and vanilla. Basically, you add a scent pad to a syringe then add water to make a simple scented extraction. Then you mix the different scents to create you own perfume. The perfume is only good for one week before you need to discard it. Two favorite scents that my daughter created are chocolate mint and the other is a blend of cinnamon, vanilla and cotton candy. She made containers of perfume for her older sister and me. ... show more

Something fun to do with your Littles. It was definitely different than I expected. I am use to liquids such as oils to make perfume fragrance. This used papers that you filter to make your perfume. Its a cool concept for kids. My daughter likes all the fragrance, they are very kid friendly scents. I like tbe little individual perfume spray bottles. I do not think the red dye is necessary. I bought this for my daughter's 7 year old birthday. I liked the concept of this kit, making kid's own perfume. The making process is a little complicated but manageable. We did not like the smells of the fragrances that came in the kit. I wish they were more kids friendly fragrances. I would not recommend this product. ... show more

    • Pretty fun - kids need adult help
This is a fairly fun kit for a kid and parent to do together. My seven-year-old was hoping to do this one by herself, but she needed help figuring out the instructions, and trying to get it to work. You usepieces of paper that are soaked in fragrances and filter water through them to infuse the smell into your perfume, but the paper never really broke down the way it was supposed to for us. We were still able to get the scent from them into the perfumes after enough shaking, though, so it was fine once we realized that we could just shake and mash the paper in the water for awhile and not worry about it doing anything else. The biggest issue I had is that the coloring for it is just a bottle of super potent red food coloring. There was no way to make any different colors, and also my daughter got a little over-zealous and did about three drops of it in one of her perfumes and then stained her skin and clothing red when she put the perfume on. ... show more

The box and packaging is beautiful, great for kids. Inside includes a 12 page book that's colorful, easy to read and follow. The different scents smell good, my daughter has created 3 candy scented perfumes. There is a plastic holder for staying organized and getting everything ready. The only thing we did not use was the red dye. We were concerned it may stain clothes, so we left that item out when creating the scents, as it added no value to the overall science experiment. ... show more
