When I got the item, it was in a medium size box. I opened the box, don't use a box-cutter or knife, just open where the tape is easy to use a small scissor to break the tape. It does have warnings all over the box top about being care with using sharp objects to open the box. I pulled out the mattress topper and it has instructions on how to fluff it up since it has been compressed in a sealed plastic package. I followed the instructions and added the pad to the top of my mattress. As time went on the topper fluffed up even more and is very soft to the touch and not too cool or hot. It fits corner to corner very nicely, and the sides are nice and long so they wrap around and under the edges of my mattress, which I think is a 14 inch deep one. Mattress pad has two labels--One was the company name that included the word STANDARD The other label was the size label which was QUEEN which is what I ordered. So the product is in fact what I ordered. Therefore there is no problem and the product does not need to be returned.
