Description

Tetra is a name you can trust in the aquatics industry. With decades of proven performance and high quality products it’s no wonder Tetra is the go to brand for aquatics beginners and veterans alike. Tetra makes all the difference with the Tetra Internal Filtration System. It utilizes a 2 part filtration system. The first is mechanical filtration where the filter pulls water out of the aquarium and pushes it through the filter cartridge where the dense, dual sided mesh catches debris and waste. The second step uses chemical filtration where Ultra-Activated Carbons remove odor and debris. Not only does the Starter Kit come with the Tetra Internal Filtration System but it also has the power of ColorFusion LEDs that illuminate bubbles with a rainbow of color from red, yellow, blue, green and everything in between. Feeding and maintaining your fish is easy with this aquarium because it also includes a feeding tube.

  • Perfect‼️
I love this easy peasy set up beginner tank …Perfect for a Betta Fish. Okay, I am buying my Betta fish tomorrow but the tank is all set up for “Baity” 😂 So, 1. You can control the filter flow of water— from off - max. I’ll probably keep it at the lowest setting. 2. You can control ( separately from the filter flow) the air bubbles — from off - max. I’ll probably keep it at the lowest setting. I have No problem with the lid fitting on properly. And it will stay on. It’s such a little sweet set up. You do have to buy gravel, decorations, water conditioner, food etc. I highly recommend. 👍 ... show more

  • Decent for beginners
So I originally got this tank because my daughter wanted to hatch some triops and they looked sad in the tiny tank that came with the set and I got tired of dumping water twice a day. The tank is very light weight and looks very nice. The lights and bubbler would not sit flat which was frustrating. We got some sand since the little things like to dig and some decorations. A half inch layer seemed to keep it down though and it looked pretty nice. Since the filter and bubbler are attached to the same pump, you can’t have them both up as high as they go. Which was fine for the critters we have in there. The bubbler and lights work fine however the cord and tubing is a little annoying to look at but it starts to just blend after a while. It would be nice if they could include maybe a suction cup that could at least hold the tube and wire together and on the back of the tank. The lid fit perfectly before I filled the tank. After I filled it though there ended up being a small gap in the back like others have mentioned. It’s just the water pressing out the flat side of the tank and isn’t super noticeable. It does make it a bit harder to put the lot of without it falling in. I found though that if I put the corners on first so they sit properly, then the rest just settles down where it should go. The thing that made me give it a three star instead of a five though, is the filter. It worked fine for about a week. The suction was fine but I started noticing things it was sucking up were just coming out the spout. I changed the filter, just assuming the triops in there were dirty like goldfish and would take extra cleaning. There were a few little bubbles that would come out but that’s just gotten progressively worse. The lid on the filter doesn’t stay put when it bubbles so I noticed little bits of water on top of the lid from popping bubbles. Now three weeks in the bubbles are so bad, the bubbles push the betta food all over and up the sides of the tank. The biggest issue is no matter how much cleaning I do of the filter housing inside and out, and replacing the actual filter, the bubbles just keep getting worse. So bad that yesterday I noticed a decent size puddle around the tank and on the floor and it was because the bubbles were coming out the back and water was running down the clip for it on the back of the tank. I had to use two hand towels to clean up all the water. I’ve looked for other filters however there is a space on the lid for the filter that is fairly small so most filters that hang on the edge of the tank won’t fit with the lid on. I’ve been looking at submersible filters instead. The only problem with that is that the tank is not real wide so there’s not a whole lot of room for decorations AND a filter on the bottom. Over all I think the tank is good for the price since it comes with the bubbler, the pump, the tubing, and the filter. Using a paper towel to wipe the walls inside keeps the plastic from getting scratched. I would just say maybe once you get it, start looking for a different filter because the one that comes with is pretty cheap. ... show more

  • Good little tank after some tweaks
I'm going into my 2nd week with this tank and made a few adjustments that resolve the LED bubbler from floating to the top all the time. The 2 annoying things I noticed once I had set it all up was the fact the LED bubbler wouldn't stay on the bottom and the lid kept falling off. To resolve the LED bubbler issue, I found a small rock, just about the same size as the bubbler and about an inch in thickness. I wanted to use a rock that I could conceal well but also have some weight to it. Being in Texas, we have a ton of limestone rocks on our land and after researching online, I discovered limestone was a great option. It holds well underwater (be warned that some rocks may start to disintegrate or chalk after being underwater for some time. I boiled water and allowed the rock to soak for 2 hrs to ensure it was clean. Do not use soap when doing this as it can disrupt the ecosystem inside the tank. Once the rock was clean, I attached the bubbler on top of it with a zip tie. This way I could bury the limestone rock under the aquarium gravel and now the whole thing has enough weight to stay on the bottom. Problem solved! The issue with the lid, I discovered, that while it is true the tank bows out slightly in the back due to the weigh of the water (an issue of poor design), the lid does not sit on top of the aquarium after all. There is a small lip on the front of the lid and it fits down inside in top of the tank. Rather than attempting to set the lid directly on top, you insert the lip slightly on the top and it fits securely and tightly. This was discovered, mind you, after the lid fell off into the tank over 20 times. I was very annoyed and even when we went to feed them, one small touch and the lid was off. My husband realized I had it on wrong the whole time. Once we figured that out, the lid has not fallen into the tank since. Be sure when you fill the tank, you fill it high enough to have the water line just under the spout (or lip) of the filter. If you fail to have enough water, the filter will not work properly and therefore, the tank will not cycle correctly and more than likely will result in dead fish. Be sure you see water spewing back out of the spout of the filter back into the tank. Again, since I've only had it for 2 weeks, I can't say much for the longevity of the filter itself and/or how reliable the tank is. However, for a starter tank for my 4 year old to have 2 small fish inside, it was a hit! We also got a small moss ball (can buy online on Amazon or at your local pet store or fish store) and this also helps with the natural filterization in the tank. I have the tank situated close enough to a window to allow some sunlight in. The moss ball needs some sun in order to stay alive. Do not overfill this small tank with too many fish. You will end up with to much ammonia and have to clean it out more often than you would like. I recommend either one betta, 2 small Glo Fish, or 2 small guppies or 2 small mollies. Maybe you can get away with a dwarf frog and a small angelfish. The frogs, while they are fun to watch swim around, dirty up the tank much faster than fish do. Plus, they eat bloodworms which also have a tendency to dirty up your water quicker. Add some weight to your bubbler like I did and this will resolve the biggest complaint you see about this tank. Otherwise, I am pleased with my purchase and I'll update this post when I have had it longer. ... show more
