Skates seem very well made and provides good ankle support. Having buckles instead of laces make putting on skates quick and simple. I suspect they are comfortable, my six year old likes them and never complains of feet hurting or being cold. Best of all, they are adjustable - we will be able to use them for the next few years. The previous review is correct -- the shoe size is misleading. It should say "shoe size" and not "years". Bought these for my 2.5 year old son. These are very high quality, they look like the came sharpened though I did go over the blade with my hand sharpener just to tighten up the edges, and I love the adjustment feature - they should fit my son for several winters I hope... As others have noted, it is a bit weird the plastic straps are so long and go inside the skate. One reviewer mentioned drilling holes in the skates for the strap to exit out through, though I found it much easier to just cut off the extra length with scissors, as it is not like the girth of a child's foot is going to change that much over the 2-3 winters he/she can use these. They seem very well made - but BE AWARE - these are NOT 6-9 year old sizes - they are SHOE SIZE 6-9. Had to send them back for that reason. Even the packing slip states "6-9 years" - but that is NOT the case!

These skates were great for my sons learn to skate session, an easy button for extending the size when he gets older is a great feature. His foot slides right in and the strap fasteners are easy to adjust.

My 7 year old just took off on these skates. They're easy to get on and off. Came quick and were nice and sharp. I believe these fit true to size. The sizes are shoe sizes, not the age as it says in the description.

Although the external shell is adjustable as described, the inner lining is one size and has no ability to expand as the size of the outer shell is expanded. My grandson wears a youth size 13 skate at the ice skating rink and although the outer shell expands to approximately the correct size, the inner lining is a full inch+ shorter and does not expand. My grandsons foot would not being to squeeze into the lining as his toes hit the end way before his heel entered the boot. At this age, expanding skates are a great idea but this one is very poorly executed. ... show more

they serve their purpose, one of the lower buckles broke, but can still get the mechanism to hold. we're hoping they last for a bit longer until we have to commit to hockey equipment. the adjustability is nice and easy, my 7 year old loves that he has his own skates.
