  • Good camera with a few changes.
It works well with some changes and adjustments. The Teslong Rifle Borescope is an endoscope camera that connects by USB to your android phone or computer. I have only tried it with my phone. Initially I was very frustrated. The software app that is provided for download in the play store for google kept crashing every time I went to use it. Very frustrating! I then searched and tried numerous endoscope apps. Almost every one either had so many ads making it unusable or it simply would not connect. The solution I found was to use a USB Camera app instead. Once I did this the scope worked flawlessly. The image resolution is enough to provide decent detail. I wish it was a little higher, but for the price point it is great. The connectivity for android and pc is good. You have the option of usb, micro usb and usb c. You may be able to connect to an iphone if you had a usb adapter. With the usb c adapter it would disconnect from the phone once in a while because of the length of the connector. Other than that, it works great and allowed me to search for fractures that I need to when I received it. Also, the adjustable brightness helps a lot. I am sure it will work well as a borescope as well as other random uses. Time will tell how well it holds up to regular use. ... show more

  • Amazingly good for the price!
This thing is amazing! For the money, any real shooter who cares about their guns should get one. I really didn’t think it would be anywhere near this good, but I have wanted a Hawkeye for a long time, so when I heard good things about this I figured why not give it a try and I am very glad I did! I can’t speak to longevity since I just got it, but on its optical quality and usefulness, it is great. I will try to update this after a couple months of use so I can better speak to the longevity of it. However, it’s not perfect so let’s go over some minor drawbacks. 1) The way the angle view mirror has to be focused isn’t great. It works, but it requires a little trial and error every time you switch barrels/bore sizes before you can get it focused just right. 2) Since the shaft is semi flexible as you move down the bore the camera moves from one side of the bore to the other due to the flex in the shaft, and this makes it hard to keep it perfectly focused the whole way down the bore. 3) Again, since the shaft is semi flexible AND it has the heavy cord and connector on the end it makes it difficult to follow the twist of the barrel because after one or two turns the cable wants to twist back so it fights you as you move down the bore. 4) I don’t know if it’s the camera or what but when trying to adjust the lights it almost doesn’t work because you turn it down and you can watch on screen the camera adjust and brighten things back up or if you try to make it brighter the camera adjusts it back down. So you really only end up with more of a High and Low, anything in between and the camera adjusts and makes it higher or lower anyway. 5) The lights reflect off the mirror and blur out/reflect back again to where you can’t really see the area where the lights are pointing directly at. I don’t know how you could really fix that, and I don’t know if the Lyman & Hawkeye borescopes do it as well, but it is something that happens. And depending on how well you get everything focused and the position of the mirror you can end up seeing all 5 little spots of light reflecting off the mirror and onto the surface of the bore blocking the view of 5 individual little spots. Most of the negatives are very minor drawbacks and could very well be the same on other borescopes too. Do I think a $600 Hawkeye borescope is better? Probably. But how much better? Enough to justify being 10 times the price? Probably not! But all in all, this is a very good tool, and when you combine it with such a low price compared to the other borescopes, it makes this a home run. If you care about your guns and want to see the condition of them without spending a small fortune then don’t hesitate to get this. ... show more

  • Was plesantly suprised, item is as advertised and performs.
I was really pleasantly surprised. I had used other bore scopes before but I always had to borrow them the few times I wanted to take a look at the bore. Not that I'm obsessed with looking at the bores on my rifles but rather that an occasional inspection can be a good thing to confirm barrel condition for frequent use AR platform rifles even though its likely not needed unless you suspect a problem but the technology is there so why not use it occasionally. For years I told myself I would get my own bore scope, so finally got around to buying my own. Value: Its a great value. Reasonably priced, good quality and workmanship. Use: Works as advertised and expected. Packaging and Contents: Suitable for the components, and the zippered case is nice. It did not come with a lens cleaning cloth for some reason. Basically just about everything 'optic' in the gun world comes with a lens cleaning cloth so I was a little surprised it didn't come with one, but no problem as I have a bunch of them collected over the years from firearms optics, cameras, phones, eye glasses, sun glasses, trips to the local gun store where they just give them away in a big bucket on the end of a counter, etc... so there is always one around I can use. For firearms, those little lens cleaning cloths supplied with optics tend to get soiled a little over time so I keep some fresh ones around. The manual is straight forward, instructions easy to understand, but other than the particulars about the app for Android devices and use on Windows computers the thing is pretty much self explanatory but take a look at the manual anyway. Set up and use: Basically, its a 'plug-n-play' kind of thing but if using on an Android device you need to get the app (see the manual). Initially I could not use it on my personal Android phone because its got an Otter case on it and that case has some plastic that encloses the port where the bore scope will plug into and the connector supplied with the bore scope is about 1/16 of an inch too wide to allow the connector to plug into the phone with that Otter case plastic in place and I did not want to remove the case. But I did try it with another Android phone without a case and it worked perfectly with the required app (outlined in the manual). I also tried it on a Windows 10 and Windows 11 computer, these have a built in 'camera' app and it worked perfectly with that and there is no separate app needed. Operation: Simple and straight forward. Its a bare bones basic bore scope, but its image quality surprised me some. Image is clear and sharp, and as shown in the videos with this item page on Amazon - which is about the same with other brand quality bore scopes. It had been a while since I last looked at my barrels insides like this, I was surprised at how effective my cleaning was since I last looked and only saw a few fibers left behind by cleaning patches. Barrels are in good shape. Advice: There is a little removable black cover for the camera. I recommend you hang on to this and put it back on when you are done using the bore scope to protect the camera. The cover also fits over the mirror attachments so you can leave one attached and slide the cover over that and its long enough so it will cover the mirror and the camera lens. The flexible camera cable is kind of springy and tends to want to 'un-coil' when you try to coil it back up to put it in the case, one of the twist ties with the USB cable can be used to secure it so it doesn't uncoil. ... show more

  • When it worked - It was great!
Purchased June 2024 - now January 2026. Used on approximately 10 rifles in this time. Photos were clear and the borescope is really easy to use. The borescope will not power on now, I have submitted a claim to Teslong. Always stored in original case. We will see if the warranty is good. If Teslong does repair this borescope, I will buy a second unit as a spare. **Update -- Teslong warranty was fantastic. They sent a replacement immediately and it works great. It took a week or less once warranty claim was submitted.Thank you! ... show more
