    • Great for defrizzing and adding body and shape
I took a risk and tried this out after seeing my niece use a similar brush. This version has fine teeth, which grabs onto hair more and lets me add body plus a bit of a wave. My hair is mostly straight and medium-fine, but it gets frizzy in humid weather and after a shower--hair that's frizzy and flat at the same time. That's why I bought this brush, to remove frizziness and flatness without the noise and bulk of a clunky hairdryer. I think this brush does a better job with defrizzing. I use a very low temperature setting, 210. I'm looking forward to travelling with it (as it's fairly compact) and potentially avoiding the use of hotel hair dryers for styling. Note that with this brush, it's not possible for me just to run it through my hair; the teeth are too fine for that. I work my hair in sections and have to use both hands. If you are expecting to use the straightener like a conventional brush, then I'd say you need to find a version with wider teeth. I think the narrow teeth of this version allow for more control and shaping, but the tradeoff is that I have to guide my hair into the brush. I can achieve volume and a slight wave, which is great. I was not expecting a lot from this straightening brush, particularly since it wasn't Chi, or L'ange or one of the fancier, more expensive brands, but I was so pleasantly surprised, I bought a second one for my daughter. She and I both have naturally curly hair, but also both love the sleek look of straightened locks. We each have a flat iron; in fact, I have a very expensive flat iron, but this appliance heats quickly, doesn't damage my hair, and it only took me about a quarter of the time it takes me to flat iron and the results were beautiful. Soft, straight, and even came with a very cool mitt and mat to rest it on. Quick note about the mitt: if you do not want lobster red hands, you cannot go wrong with this mitt. I have incredibly coarse, all natural, 4c hair that is very difficult to straighten. This straightener worked better than any other electric hot comb or straightener that I've ever used. The only thing that has ever straightened my hair better is the old school Marcel hot comb that you put on the stove. :-) This product gives me flowing, blow in the wind, fresh silk press vibes!!! I wear wigs 100% of the time. But baby...this had me out in the streets running errands wig-free!!! LOL I give this an enthusiastic 5-star rating. Buy it now, sis. :-) PROS: Heats fast, cools fast, gets really hot (450 degrees), great for 4c hair, tames all frizz, easy to use, great value for price CONS: I would not call this anti-scald. This hair straightener brush did not work at all on my hair. I have straight thick hair in this brush. Did not straighten it at all. The grooves in the brush did not grasp my hair and it didn't straighten whatsoever. Unless you have super thin hair, I wouldn't even try it.

I would give it a 5 star review if the temp/off reading could be read with the lights on. I love the ease and how quickly it removes the wild texture of my hair. I have thick gray hair. When I am done my hair is straight, soft and contours to my shoulders without looking like straw sticking out of my head. The heat is something you need to play with until you find the level that works best for you. All other straighteners have been removed and donated to women’s shelters. THANK YOU ... show more

Omg this made straightening my hair SO much quicker. It also made my hair super smooth. It heats up fairly quickly and you have different temperatures to pick from. Definitely comb your hair before to get any tangles out prior to using it.

I have extremely thick, nearly waist length, curly hair. In generally I really love my curls and rarely straighten, but periodically a change up is fun. I've tried various straighteners over the years (mostly the kind that you clamp over your hair) with various degrees of success.
