Very nice sized set. I was looking for something larger and this is a mid range size. I like making my own adobo sauce, curry pastes, and building flavor profiles. I bought this mortar to primarily grind dry spices more finely after using my electric spice grinder. It works really well after dry rice seasoning. It seems to crush dried herbs pretty easily. It's a great size for small to medium jobs. Its weight is relatively heavy compared to other marble mortars, but the weight is comparable to marble blocks. The extra weight in the pestle helps with grinding so there's less effort on our part. It's a great value for its cost and marble quality. It arrived well packaged and in new condition without damage. Worth a try.

Absolutely love this! Have not used it just yet. It literally just arrived! Perfect weight, not damages from the delivery drivers, has a pad on the bottom to protect counters and for grip, perfect size!! I actually expected it to be a lot smaller!!!! Online sellers always manipulate the photos to make things look better and bigger than they actually are. A bit of false advertising since people 98% of the time ONLY go by photos instead of actually taking the time to read the details the seller has written. Anyways. Great buy! Super excited to use it!!! Definitely worth the price, which is a great price for this quality!! I really recommend this mortar and pestle. If you’re looking to make large amounts of something this may not be for you. But small and medium amounts are perfect! I do all my products in small batches to ensure high quality.

This is much heavier and larger than I thought. It's good quality, sturdy and works well. But it is a bit hard to use do to the size and weight. Texture is smooth, but this is more for larger ingredients.

I really like the color and the quality of this mortar and pestle. I haven’t used it since it’s a birthday present for a dear friend. He enjoys cooking and creating dishes, so I really feel like he’s going to appreciate the durability of this product. It was a great value for the money.

What I love about this mortar/pestle: Everything! Size (inside depth & width), weight (stays in place during use), durability (what it's made of), size (fits in my hand comfortably), color (coordinates with my kitchen). I used to have a set that was made of a lesser quality & the pestle broke. This was my replacement. I like it a lot. Make sure you hand wash if you purchase. It cleanser up fast & easy.
