Its a great shelf for personal use. I am slightly above average height for a male and can reach the second level comfortably, the first level I would have to get down to reach it. Each shelf can atleast hold 20lbs from my simple dumbbell test. I wouldnt go more than that though. It was super simple to put together, took only about 10 minutes. The material isnt the greatest, but its not terrible. I have been using it for about 2 years now, and it still holds up just fine. I have purchased and assembled three of these. They completely meet my expectations. Which is not to say that this is some high-class shelving or anything: it's particle board with an acceptable finish. But it's also cheap and functional. And it's not actually ugly. Which is exactly what I need to organize now that my beloved (but hoarder) spouse has passed. Perhaps they're temporary... but perhaps not. Now, on to the actual review. This is a four shelf affair with the lowest shelf barely above floor level, and the top one xx inches above the floor. The risers are blown plastic, with the external threads molded and the internal ones cut after molding. There are three sets of risers, one set of feet, and one set of buttons to screw into the top riser. PROS It only takes a few minutes to assemble. Maybe ten minutes each, if you don't take multiple breaks for a sip of tea, a hit off the bong, a sandwich... uh-oh. Time to feed the cat... It's really sturdy for what it is. They state a 15 lb maximum weight per shelf, but I've got more than that on them with no bowing. It's cheap. Did I mention cheap? I'm pretty sure I did. The threaded parts fit together pretty well. Except, see below. CONS About half of the threaded parts on my last one seemed to be a bit tight, as though they were a little outside of tolerances. It still went together though. Three of the risers had a bit of machining scrap left in them from the thread cutting. I shook them out. Several of the shelves had marks on them that I think was lubricant from the tool that cut the holes. It wiped off easily. CONCLUSION I give this shelving unit 4.8 stars out of 5. ... show more

I live in an apartment, so I can't be drilling holes for floating shelves, nor is there much room for the bulkier, solid wood cabinet/shelf, so this fits the bill perfectly, function wise. I got the Dark Espresso version, which is the color of dark chocolate but with more brown, if that makes sense. Looks rather modern, by no means in a traditional looking room will this blend in, what with the plastic pipes. Any who: Likes: - Each shelf (wood plank) holds according to the manual, 89 lbs, which is more than enough for my needs - No tools are needed* - There are only a few steps to assemble each floor of the shelf, then you repeat - Little wobbly but rigid nonetheless Dislikes: - The end caps for the topmost pipes were slightly squished (two of four), so I had to use pliers to squeeze them back into shape, this isn't enough to warrant a star deduction though - Doesn't make me breakfast Took about 15 minutes to assemble, possibly less if you forgo reading the instructions (if you've built one of these already, you can assemble this shelf in 10 or less minutes). You can also disassemble (I presume) the shelf if you need to move, you just reverse the order of the way you put it together. I actually do have enough room for another one so if I so desire, I shall buy another. Great shelf for the money! *Unless your end caps are squished from shipping, then some pliers can help shape them back ... show more

so I purchased this 4 shelf stand I have to say it is really nice. It doesn’t look cheap. It doesn’t feel cheap. The shelves are very dark brown fake color wood and they put it together obviously with black PVC parts that are Matt black in color takes about five minutes to put together once you get it out of the box I definitely would recommend it does not look cheap at all so don’t look the picture or how they describe it making you not wanna pick it up? I also had a nice coupon that came with it so I ended up spending I want to say about $22 for it definitely worth it in the time being I am using mine for food storage, but you definitely can use this for a plant stand or even for clothing. ... show more

Now I'm the type of person that doesn't like complicated instructions when putting something together. I've bought bookshelves from Walmart and Target in the past that have had absolutely terrible instructions... but this product was not like that!! This was SO easy to put together. The day I got this in the mail, my chronic pain was flaring, but even so, I was still able to put it together rapidly. The instructions were clear and it really does not require ANY tools of your own. It comes with an extra piece in case you want to nail it to your wall. I did not do this with mine and it has not tipped over. I've had it for 2 months now. My cat will rub up against it and it doesn't tip. I've even bumped into it and it doesn't tip. It's actually pretty sturdy, is what I'm trying to say. I have my heaviest items on the bottom, like books and board games, and on top I have my lighter items like my figurines and such. It looks really nice in my living room and I highly recommend it if you want an easy to put together shelf. ... show more

I usually have good luck with this company which is why I immediately seek it out when in the market for occasional furniture. I wasn't so lucky this time. The box arrived in good condition, however the bottom end looking like it had been opened previous and taped back up haphazardly. I'm thinking it was a return since one of the shelves had a chip in the paint, one had a light scratch across it and the edges on some others were rough. I filled in the chip with black marker and turned the other shelves with the damage toward the wall so it wouldn't be seen. It took me only about fifteen minutes to put the whole thing together. No screws or bolts or hex keys--just screw one tube into another with a shelf in-between. It looks nice, but it would have been nicer if I didn't have to try to camouflage the flaws. ... show more
