Works great and not too loud, but since you have to press the lid to activate it and that creates a deal from a rubber gasket, when you stop pressing the lid the seal is not tight and you will get powder on the counter to clean up, there is a work around by keeping it pressed and pulling the power cord when you want it to stop Since you can't get it very wet, cleaning the inside is a pain where the blade is, as the blade doesn't remove so you can clean under it easily For whatever reason I still like it for it's performance ... show more

I bought this to grind up dehydrated peppers in order to make hot pepper seasoning dust and I barely got anything done before it apparently siezed up/burnt up and stopped working. First, there are a few things that need clarified in regard to the way this product is advertised: It says this thing can make a course/medium/fine grind in as little as 5-15 seconds. Instead, it seemed to chop through the dehydrated peppers and basically just toss the larger bits around in the cup. There was minimal "powder" that came out. It also says this thing is quiet? That's a ridiculous statement. So anyway, the instruction book says not to use for longer than 90 seconds at a time before taking a 3 minute cooldown break. Probably because this thing gets hotter than the sun while it's in use. I never got anywhere close to exceeding this (I was primarily doing pulses just to try to get it to actually grind and then would maybe run it for 5 or 10 seconds straight before taking a break to reposition/shake everything around). And then it just stopped. Click. Click. No more grinding. I can only assume the motor burnt up, which is not surprising as hot as it got in the minimal amount of time I used it.
