I tried three usb wifi adapters for linux. This Tenda adapter includes a .deb file that is a point an click install. AFter a recent Linux kernel update, I had to reinstall using the .deb file so remember that if your wifi stops working after an update. The other adapters did not include a .deb file and required extracting and running a shell script none of which worked properly. Maybe I did not do their steps properly or maybe they just have incomplete install kits. But the Tenda is a winner. I also have a five year old usb wifi adapter that works well with Linux but disconnects wifi whenever timeshift runs or the update manager runs. Then I have to unplug and replug the adapter to wake it back up. No such problems with this Tenda unit. So I ordered a second one, too.

After first installing this adapter into my new PC build I found I had no Bluetooth. Wifi was just fine and working great. The adapter itself was quite easy to install. What I assumed to be correct was not and this has caused me to try and resolve the no Bluetooth problem for more than a day. I am using Windows 11 Home. The troubleshooter could not find any Bluetooth nor was it visible in Device Manager. I updated drivers several times and made sure Windows was up to date. No help. I used Speccy and it also found no Bluetooth. Extremely frustrating! I just fixed the problem and now feel pretty dumb. I made the assumption that the driver was for both the Wifi and Bluetooth functions of this adapter and that was correct. I further assumed that power would be provided via the motherboard through the PCIe slot. This was incorrect. What threw me off was the plastic bag that had a short cable and short adapter plate in it. It was quite unclear as to why this was included in the box. Without reading the extremely small print instructions thoroughly I moved forward with installing the adapter and ignored the plastic bag contents. That was my mistake. Doh!! The Bluetooth side of this card requires a separate power cable and that was the cable in the plastic bag. There was only one short sentence about installing this cable and the install was not shown in the pictograms. This was my first PC build so I have zero prior experience and this is the reason I assumed power would be supplied through the PCIe slot. Now everything is working perfectly! I highly recommend this product but also highly recommend you read the installation instructions carefully regardless of how small the print is!! PS. I also highly recommend that Tenda put a label on this plastic bag indicating that it contains the Bluetooth power cable. This would have saved me a lot of aggravation.

Works in 10 /11 but not Linux or Windows 7 out of the package for Windows 7 even when you install the drivers it will not work. Device Manager says it cant start the device works flawlessly in windows 10/11

Bought this because my last one broke and stopped working. This one works like a dream. No cd to insert or complicated instruction. Just plug it in, follow the prompts to log into your wifi, and it's ready to go! I highly recommend it.

Useless crap - It is not auto install - You need to install a driver to use this module. False marketing, i needed a device which is plug and play without needing to install external drivers.
