This is a great little safe! To be clear if not bolted to the wall, nothing prevents a thief from walking off with it. It is not fireproof or break-in proof. With that, it sits on shelf in my closet and holds some values and my firearms. I specifically bought it to keep my firearms locked up and out of reach of my son. For that, it is great! The fingerprint reader is good and works as designed! Admittedly, you have to hit it just right with relatively dry hands for it to work. The fact you can program up to 30 prints is great, use it for me and my wife. We also use a key code as a backup to gain access. Setting up the fingerprints and code was very simple. There is even a little alarm you can set if some rocks the safe and deactivates with code or print. One downside is every time you press a button or use the print reader, it beeps. It is not overly loud, but loud enough if you want to access it in the middle of the night because of a suspected intruder, depending on the size of your house and location of safe, may be heard opening. One thing not mentioned in the instructions. The safe dial/keypad will not work if the batteries die (that is mentioned). The only way to access it of that happens is the emergency back up key (don't lose) or (this is what is not mentioned) the safe does come with a battery back up kit. The kit plugs into the safe keypad and powers it up so you can use the keypad and/or print reader to get the safe open. Once opened, you can replace the batteries. All in all, at this price point and my needs, this is perfect. Not too big, small, or overly complicated. As long as your not looking for something that is theft proof, this is great. ... show more

This is a great safe that employs both biometric and combination access with an emergency external power source in the event the batteries fail. Also, a manual key for entry with electronics fail.     • No Bottom Mounting and terrible manual. Very nice otherwise!

Update: I have upgraded the rating. It turns out this safedoes have an undocumented emergency battery system you can use to open the safe if the battery dies and you loose the keys. Its the white box and it plugs into the little hole at the bottom of the dial. Neeto! Totally undocumented though. Interior is beautiful. Still a star off for lying about the floor mount though and tnhe manual is horrible. "You can fix the TENAMIC safe on the floor or on the wall. It can be well matched with all kind of home or office environment." Lies ! There are NO mounting hole on the bottom. STUPID forma safe! The manualo is useless. Does not,even explain battery installation. No emergency battery system. Its pretty inside but returning. ... show more

It took many tries to get the password reset and the Fingerprint reader only worked for my husband but once we workedthroughthat the safe works good and the size is good. Customer service was very good.
