After a few years of sleeping on a $500 Sleep Innovation bed-in-a-box mattress, I decided to try out a Tempurpedic to see if the brand lived up to its name. Unfortunately, for me it did not. Visually it is a very beautiful mattress and is silky to the touch. But that's about where the pros end. The cons, on the other hand, are that it is incredibly soft - much softer than you'd expect from a "medium" mattress - and it sleeps hot. The description led me to believe that it would be a cooling medium firmness mattress but alas it is neither. I've had it for two weeks and have woken up sweaty every morning, despite sleeping in a 68F apartment with light covers. If this mattress were <$1000 it would be a different story but for >$3K it's not worth the money, or the hassle of returning it. There are some great hybrid mattresses out there but this one missed the mark. The reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because it is definitely high quality and quite comfy, so long as you aren't spending a third of your life on it. ... show more

    • Temperpedic doesn't stand behind their Warranty.

BEWARE. Temperpedic will deny the 10 year warranty by any means necessary, to avoid responsibility. Everything has to be done online by you and you can't talk to them ( for a reason), then once you get a manager to call and discuss the situation, they will not help you out. If you have to submit a claim, wash your topper before submitting the pictures. We paid for the top of the line bed at temperpedic. It hasn't been the most comfortable, but recently associated it to my back issues as the middle of the bed is slightly sunken in. Well Temperpedic denied cancelled their 10 year warranty due to some minor staining, when it's clearly from me sleeping over time in the top mattress. (Our kid had an accident and the moisture must have gotten through moisture layer, though they claim it's abuse and any liquid will compromise the integrity so they can't warranty). It washed right out and the bed is in and looks in excellent condition now. I was looking for some assistance, but Temperpedic will use any stain possible to deny (void) their warranty. They don't even try to make an attempt to make it right, so you have to buy a new mattress at full price. They own multiple brands, so beware of buying their other brands. Similar story to many buyers on here. Tempur-Pedic is apparently no longer the quality it was in years past. Now owned by Sealy - they appear to be trading on name, making inferior beds that do not last, backed by a 10-year warranty that's useless. Bought a Tempur Pro-Adapt Medium Hybrid in August of 2020 for $3700. Less than two years later, it's so bad that, rather than continue to suffer, my Wife and I decided to throw in the towel and buy another new mattress all together. Wish I read the 1-stars before this purchase (rather than the supposedly "independent" blogs & review sites.) We've experienced the same issues, as mentioned by others: - Cover feels cool, but warms up and sleeps hot - Bed is sensitive to room temp - Feels fine through its trial period, but near a year, softens, leading to back pain, and rolling / sinking towards your partner - Somehow the bed is both too firm and yet unsupportive. (Side sleeping results in numb-ness, while back sleeping brings shoulder and lower back pain) A year into ownership, we knew this thing was bad, but I remained in denial - there's no way that a Tempur-Pedic, such a well-regarded, costly brand - one that my family has had great experiences with (albeit the Tempur-Pedic of decades ago) - is THIS bad. We even gave Tempur-Pedic MORE money by purchasing a topper, thinking we could salvage this costly mistake. As another reviewer mentioned, that was not enough to make up for the core issues with this mattress. So, we tested it. 6 months ago, needing a new bed for the guest room, we bought a Casper Hybrid. My Wife and I both have sleep trackers in Aura Rings. She "felt" the Casper better, truthfully so did I, but we decided to conduct a little experiment. We slept a month on each bed. We kept our routines the same. The bed-in-a-box, half the price Casper - slept significantly better for both of us. Anecdotally, we "felt" better on the other mattress. Empirical data backed this up. Every sleep metric was higher when not sleeping in the Tempur. More deep & REM sleep, less movement, higher restfulness, etc. Less than 2 years into owning this garbage mattress, with a July 4th sale, we replaced it. Oh, and don't even bother with a warranty claim. The mattress needs to show an indentation of greater than 3/4'' an inch. I suspect that Tempur is building these mattresses w/a weak, unsupportive top layer, one that losses support just outside the return period - BUT is also able to rebound. Meaning with no one on the bed there's no indent, but lay on it, and its lack of support and that sinking feeling is readily apparent. Both to your physical comfort, as well as your bank account. (Btw, my Wife and I are not large people. The combined weight of two people on this King mattress was less than 340lbs). Steer clear and get a superior product (for likely less) from another brand. Tempur is trading on its name at this point. I'm sure they figure this is a onetime purchase - so what if you screw the customer over? But you know what, anyone who will listen, I warn them not to be sucked in, like I was. I truly hope this review helps someone not be out $4k+. ... show more

I purchased this mattress in 2018 after moving and having to replace my king size Simmons mattress that I loved. My new space only accommodated a queen. After purchasing and then returning three different mattresses, I tried the Tempur-pedic and it was amazing! Even after four years, I love this mattress. Every person has different requirements, but for me this mattress is the perfect amount of support and softness. I’m a back and side sleeper, and on this mattress I sleep through the night and I don’t wake up with any hip or joint soreness. With any Tempur-pedic, you have to sleep in it for a few weeks to break it in, but I love this mattress and I would buy it again! ... show more
