Wow this is soft. You just kinda sink into it. If you plan on living the rest of your life in bed this is the mattress you should get. You will forget all your obligations and when you finally wake up it will be 2074. And that's just the first night.

The mattress felt much softer in the store. As soon as we got it we complained that it was not soft. We were told it would soften with time. It has never softened. We tried to contact Tempur Pedic and of course they will not honor the warranty. Stay away from this company if you want a soft mattress! ... show more

    • My back is asking me if the "soft" version of this mattress was a good choice
I have the soft version of this bed. I have been using it for a week so far and it WAS growing on me with time. At first, I thought it was going to be too firm, but once you are in it for a bit, it starts to give more and is softer. My back is usually uncomfortable in bed. The best I was able to do before this mattress was a Tuft & Needle memory foam mattress with a Sealy mattress topper on top. This Tempur-pedic is, so far, a bit better than that setup. I'm sort of at this in-between, "getting used to a new mattress" time but I still have to give the mattress four stars because I no longer wake up with sore knees and hips when laying on my side for long periods of time. I will be back to update after a few more weeks with this mattress. In the meantime, I'm giving it 4 stars for giving me slightly better sleep for a longer period each night than I had before. However, the price of this bed is insane. UPDATE: A few days later, I woke up in pain and got out of bed and had severe pain in my lower back. I must have sunk into the bed and been locked in a bad position. I'm hoping that it doesn't happen again. I'm starting to wonder if this bed is too soft for me. UPDATE: One month later, medium softness probably would be better for anyone with back issues like myself. The soft version is just too soft. UPDATE: Several months later, I can't take this mattress anymore. I had to go back to my old one, it is just way too soft for someone with back problems. I have always been interested in Tempurpedic mattresses but was worried about the "Heat Factor". Memory foam mattresses are notoriously hot in warm weather. This mattress has a cooling feature that really makes this mattress comfortable. In fact it is so comfortable that I have been finding it difficult to wake up in the morning because I'm sleeping deeper than usual. I also made an error when we got it and put our mattress pad on it - that keeps the memory foam from working properly. On the plus side, the top cover can be unzipped and washed separately, and Tempur does sell a mattress cover if you feel the need to have another cover. When you lay down your body heat softens it up and it contours to your body. This is called a "soft" mattress - it feels a bit firm when you first lay down, but once you settle in it's perfect for me. I almost knocked off a star because of the high cost - other memory foam mattresses cost less, but you get what you pay for. This is a very high quality mattress. ... show more

As you know everyone has an opinion. With that said I got this bed yesterday around 330pm, day before Thanksgiving. Need I say thanks tempur pedic!!!! Replaced a garbage bed in a box nectar bed. Your sleep is important, after 90 days on a nectar I found after one night on this bed...I Slept like a rock. On the nectar I preferred to be locked up in jail instead, just kidding. You get what you pay for...60 months no interest. I bought a soft which is perfect. Medium felt too firm in the store. I recommend it, this bed is a game changer folks and no,,, I'm not paid to say this ... show more

This is one of those reviews I will have to come back to and add updates for. Mattresses sometimes need time to tell just how good or bad they will turn out to be. But, for now, we love this mattress. My husband is no longer sore after a night of sleep. The cooling feature is helpful for me, because I get hot when I sleep, no matter the room temperature or blanket variables. We are using this on a platform bed (meaning no box springs) and that is working well. My only real complaint about this mattress is that our sheets don't want to stay on. The mattress is sort of slick, so the sheets slide and come untucked and I wake up feeling them wrinkled underneath me. This messes with my sensory issues, so I am going to see if I can find a solution. Maybe there are certain kinds of sheets that will work better for this style of mattress. ... show more
