Getting into a dentist lately feels like trying to book a concert ticket the second it goes on sale. So when my crown near my canine broke, I needed something to help me stop hiding my smile in the meantime. This temporary tooth kit ended up being… a mixed bag, but not a total miss. First, the functionality. The kit comes with multiple tooth shapes and three different shades, which I really appreciated. Teeth aren’t one-size-fits-all or one-shade-only, and this at least gives you a fighting chance at a decent match. The thermal beads are easy to work with. A little hot water, they soften right up, and you can mold them without feeling rushed. If you mess it up, you can reheat and try again, which is a big plus. Ease of use is fair, but not effortless. It definitely took a couple of tries to get the fit right. Trimming and shaping helped, but it’s not something you’ll nail perfectly on the first attempt unless you’re very patient. Once placed, it looks okay at a glance. From a distance, it does what it needs to do. Up close, you can tell it’s not a real tooth, but for a temporary solution, that’s expected. Durability is where expectations need to be realistic. This is not something you can eat with, sleep with, or forget is in your mouth. It doesn’t feel secure enough for that. Removal is easy, which is good for comfort, but also means it can loosen if you talk too much or move your mouth a certain way. I mostly used it for short outings or moments where I didn’t want to feel self-conscious about my smile. Value-wise, for around $10, it does what it claims. It’s not a replacement for professional dental work, and it’s not meant to be. But if you’re in between appointments or waiting for a repair, this can help bridge the gap without completely avoiding mirrors or photos. Overall, it’s an okay temporary fix. Not perfect, not invisible, but helpful if you’re feeling self-conscious and need a short-term confidence boost while waiting for the real solution.

I got this kit to fill a gap while waiting for my dental appointment, and for the price, it is an incredible temporary solution. It essentially consists of beads that melt in hot water to become a moldable clay, which hardens into a solid plastic "tooth" as it cools. Out of the bag, the beads are bright white—like "Hollywood veneer" white. If your natural teeth aren't perfectly white, the fake tooth will stand out. Pro tip: Soak the formed tooth in strong tea or coffee for a bit to stain it slightly so it matches the natural shade of your other teeth. You probably won't get the shape perfect on the first try, and that is okay! The best part about this material is that if you mess up, you just drop it back in hot water and try again. It took me about 3 tries to get the bite comfortable. Since there is no glue, the tooth stays in by wedging between your other teeth. When molding it, make sure you push a little bit of the material around to the back of the adjacent teeth to create a sort of "anchor." This keeps it from falling out when you talk. This isn't a permanent replacement for a dentist, but for a confidence boost at a job interview or family photo, it works wonders. Just give yourself an hour to practice molding it!

They don’t cling aggressively to your hands, which helps keep things neat. As the material cools, it firms up evenly and keeps its shape well. The material hardens nicely once it cools and stays in place better than I thought it would. I wouldn’t recommend eating tough or sticky foods with it, but for light use it holds up fine. I also like that you can remold it if you make a mistake, which makes the kit more forgiving, this kit is a practical and affordable temporary option for missing teeth.
