It was cheap but that is exactly what to expect. It would not freely swivel (telescopic feature) and the clamp would not hold. It had to be man handled to open and turn it to the way I need. Didn't end up working at all for me. Opened it an fresh out package was instantly junk.

You don't realize how important one of these tools is until you've had to struggle for an hour under the bathroom sink trying to replace a leaky faucet. The tight places and awkward angles... makes fitting ordinary tools into these tight places a bit of a challenge. I was more than happy to pick one of these up and consider it a very important addition to my tool box.

Having now worked on repairing plumbing, removing plumbing, and installing plumbing for over 45 years I figured it might be time to get a basin wrench, but more importantly the drain remover. I have used the same needle-nose pliers to stick down in the drain hole and then use a crescent wrench on it to twirl in and out the drains on bathtubs and showers long enough. The same needle-nose pliers on electrical work as well. So perhaps it is time to give it a rest, even though it still is nearly as tight on the pivot as it was when new. Quite a pliers. But this drain removal tool makes it so easy. Just popped out a shower drain, and this comes with a hex center section for using a crescent wrench, or a pipe wrench, or it has two holes for inserting a provided T-handle bar if the drain comes out more easily. The actual basin wrench I find harder to use than standard open-end wrenches. First, the extension was inserted so hard I had to take a hammer to get it loose. But then its size limitation is such you pretty much are dealing with water supply connections or very small waste pipes. I'm used to using open-end wrenches for the water connections and various-sized water-pump pliers for the waste. This will work, but kind of klutsy compared to a nice little wrench. Although for way up at the very top, especially on some kitchen sinks, I likely will use this wrench instead. So I find any of these basin wrenches useful in a limited capacity, but the drain removal tool I find easy to use and a lot better than my needle-nose pliers setup. The price of the set is cheap enough, and they are well constructed, so if you are in the market for this stuff these are as good as any.

This is a very sturdy product and will probably last a long time, but the first time I used it a tiny sliver of metal remaining by the hole that accepts the crosspiece cut my finger. It was easily removed but I caution other buyers to examine this tool carefully before using.

This wrench offers a decent solution for certain plumbing tasks. The wrench has a nice telescoping feature that allows it to reach tight spaces and adjust to different nut sizes, ranging from 3/8" to 1 1/4" jaw capacity. The build quality is acceptable for light to moderate use. I feel the telescoping feature, though convenient, makes it feel cheap.

This is one of those tools that, unless you're a plumber, you will likely only need to use a few times. As a homeowner, I've had to replace a few sinks, and this was recommended to me by a plumber. It really helped when I was installing a reverse osmosis system under my sink. There were some connections that had some unusual or perhaps proprietary measurements. This, being adjustable, was able to latch on and help me get a grip on some of those very difficult to reach parts so it could be securely tightened. I've never bought one of these before, so I don't have much to compare it to. All I can say is it did exactly what I wanted it to do!
