Tekton is the best tool manufacturer that I've found for the price point. Every single part has a part number on them. This allows you to buy singles if your loose them. Also their warranty is a no questions asked warranty. Simply take a picture of the broken part. Upload it to their website, and they send you a replacement within a few days. I've seen my co workers wait months for snap-on to replace their broken tools. Harbor Freight offers great value but you can't buy singles when you inevitably loose something out of your set. They offer a "Quinn" set that looks very similar to this set. However, you can't buy singles. I have this set, the 1/2" set and the 1/4 set. When you buy them together it's an extremely good buy. There are no skipped sizes either!! If you're thinking about biying these, pull the trigger and thank me later. I've been replacing all my tools with Tekton at my day job work, and in both of my home shops. All my old stuff will either be sold or brought into the house so I have a small tool set for house hold projects. I like having complete sets of tools in my shop and at my day job. ... show more

I see what some reviewers say about the height of the normal size sockets. And I can see how that can be a pain in the budd - as they are larger than normal. I actually ran into an issue myself trying to get one in a tight space. But overall, I think the set is really nice. The size of the standard sockets should not make this a deal breaker for you. It's complete, the breaker bar works great. The chrome finish is much better than I expected. There is a nice range of sizes of course in both standard (larger) and extended. The ratchet just feels good in your hand. Perhaps a mechanic would go elsewhere, but this is great for the average joe and home owner. And I wouldn't worry about highlighting the number indicators in the case. It's easily readable as far as I'm concerned. Surprisingly, the company must have listened to a reviewer - as I had a piece of carboard to separate the sockets from the ratchet and breaker bar side. It might not last in the long run. But I'm careful with it and so far so good. ... show more

1st, ignore the guy who posted pictures and gave 1 star. If you ever receive something from Amazon that is defective or comes used, send it back! They'll send you another one for free. Most importantly, don't give the PRODUCT a bad review. Give the SELLER the bad review. This section is to let others know about the product, not the seller you selected from Now, to the product review I'm looking to make a trail tool kit for my 4x4 offroading vehicle. After 3 weeks of heavy, heavy research, I finally went with this 3/8 set I mainly went with Tekton for the warranty. My research shows they're great for online warranties. Just take a picture, send it to them, and they'll send out the replacement in about 3 days. No fussing about it The tool quality was better than I expected. Especially the ratchet. I was expecting harbor freight quality, but it's on par with gearwrench. All of it THE CASE HOLDS ON TO THE TOOLS. This was one of my bigger concerns, the plastic blow mold needed to be of quality, I'll be using the tool kit in the case it comes in. I'm past the days of fumbling through ammo cans and bags looking for a certain size socket. Things I didn't notice until I got it : SAE is all on the top, metric is all on the bottom On the bottom, the metric sockets don't snap in, they just sit there, which is fantastic. Metric sockets are the most common used sockets, so you have to worry less about pulling sockets out and snapping them back in. To the design engineer who decided on that, thank you The case is about 12" long, 8" wide, and about 3" deep. Prefect carrying size, which is especially beneficial for those that make those long hikes in the junk yards. My next purchase will be the huge 1/2 set, then eventually the 1/4 set. That'll cover every socket need If you're on the fence, I say give tekton a try. You can always return it back to Amazon, but you probably won't EDIT : 6 month update: I've put a lot of hours into work with this socket kit. From basic vehicle maintenance to overhauling the top end of my engine. Still impressed with quality EDIT : 1 year update : I've put this set through the absolute ringer, and it's held up perfectly. From engine rebuilds, exhaust, suspension, and to rear end differentials. This will be my last and final update as this kit has already met and exceeded by expectations. 10/10 ... show more

This is my 2cnd order for Tekton Tools. My 1st purchase was for a 1/4" drive combination socket set. I was absolutely amazed at the quality, chrome finish and the preciseness of the fit and finish. I used the 1/4" set to almost completely strip down my 1986 Honda Big Red 250es. This set never backed down and I stressed it well above what anyone could ask. I have to say in the 20+ years I have worked in the Offshore Oil & Gas Business I have not seen a tool brand as nice as this for the price; durability is there and so is the fit and finish!! The tools are heavier duty than stanley / proto and a nicer chrome finish than S&K, If you know you know. They are absolutely beautiful "like jewelry" as the old timer nieghbor of mine said. I've owned this set for just over 4 years now. I'm an avid hobby mechanic and use this set almost evey day. Every aspect of this set is wonderful. The case is the best design I'm aware of and is extremly durable. The ratchet is very smooth, and strong. The breakover bar is very long and unbelievable tough. I weight 180lb and have stood on the very end on more than one occasion. Thats 270 ft lbs -insane for 3/8" drive. The sockets fit very well and show no signs of wear after much use. I've even used them to drive bearing sout aggressivly with a hammer a couple of times, with no damage. Could not recommend more. ... show more
