These fencing pliers are the best I've seen. As a kid I helped many neighbors and relatives put up and mend fences. Have used a few different pliers over the years. These are better then them all. considering the price there are other more famous brands like DeWalt and IRWIN which I was trying hard to compare and choose between all 3 and some others and the only reason I chose this was its better curve design on the top, so far it works great the only downside is the handle Touch of the Grips which on that I prefer the IRWIN or DEWALT. a shock absorbs Grips could make it unbeatable. ... show more

This is a very hefty plier that weighs significantly more than my blue handle fencing pliers. Ths hammer surface is also much larger. Compared to other brands I looked of similar design, the jaws that grip staples to pull them out are are sharper rather than blunt and should grip staples better. There is no play in the pivot and the plier is nicely finished. Unless the extra weight is an issue, there is nothing not to like here. I have not used the plier so the durability rating is based mostly on the mass of the plier and the expectation that staples, nails, and fence are pretty soft iron. ... show more

    • Very sturdy and durable
We live on the family farm and it’s in need of a lot of fencing repairs. We had one pair of blue handled ones, everybody fought over them. So I needed more. This pair was nicely priced. The blue handled ones are over 40$. These red ones are good. Heavier and more substantial. Good at cutting. So if weight is a consideration for small hands it’s a maybe. Now these were not as nimble in putting on the wire connectors that hold the barbed wire to the post. They don’t flow as easily in your hands. If you have a someone who misplaces things often, it’s less pain to loose 20$ than 40$. Just things to consider. These are a good product and I would buy them again ... show more

I have purchased a fair number of Tekton tools over the years, and all of them have been well made, offering much better quality and durability than inexpensive Chinese tools at a much better price point than the tool truck brands.
