Nice little set of pliers for a starter set or a home/DIY user. Seems to be better quality than the Pittsburgh sets you get from Harbor Freight in the same price range. They had oil on them when I opened the box, which is normal to try and prevent rust. A couple of the pliers were not that smooth when opening and closing initially, but after cycling them a few times, they loosened up nicely. I bought 4 sets in total to give away to a training class I'm giving the Girl Scouts and they seem perfect for them to start building their tool sets with. ... show more

Picked up this 7‑piece set for $$16.99 expecting basic “disposable” tools, but I was pleasantly surprised. I cleaned off the factory oil, gave them a light wipe with CorrosionX for rust protection, and put a drop of Liberty synthetic oil on the pivots. After working them a few dozen times, they smoothed out nicely and feel much better than I expected for the price. I’m mainly using them for RC hobby work (tiny roll pins, light clamping, etc.), so they don’t need to handle automotive abuse. The handle dip is comfortable, doesn’t feel greasy, and seems durable enough for bench use. Out of curiosity, I looked up the manufacturer (Hangzhou GreatStar) and learned they also make tools for a lot of well‑known American brands. Makes sense now why the fit and finish feel decent for budget pliers. Overall, for light duty or hobby work, these are an excellent value especially if you give them a little prep when new. ... show more

    • Fair (not good) quality tools for small hands.
These pliers are not high quality in general. One plier was not properly aligned at the tip. One plier was loose at the hinge. They are made for small hands, small jobs.
