There are so many versions and look-a-likes sold today but the original Knipex Pliers Wrench can’t be beat. Like most Knipex pliers you can tell it’s a quality tool as soon as you set your eyes on them. It has a very appealing look, good ergonomics, and most importantly strength. It is a bit pricey but buying quality tools gives you great satisfaction when using them and it makes your life easier. You can’t ask for more out of a tool. The 7” are very compact and easy to use so it’s what I grab for most of the time. When I need more strength the 10” comes out, but sometimes you need to use the 10” and 12” to straighten or bend sheet metal. They are very versatile so having all 3 is a must. It’s also a lot cheaper buying them in a set compared to buying them piecemeal (usually cost about $100-$120 around Xmas)

Before buying these I had always been a Channellock guy. I had my gripes about them, but they were never a big deal so I just ignored them. But since buying these, I probably won’t go back. They don’t have the slack that channel locks develop. They don’t have that sloppy kind of feel. The pressure you can apply is great. I never have any slipping issues. I use mine daily when working on Sloan flushmates and things like that. To sum it up, can you complete the job with a cheaper alternative? Yes. 100%. Are these a good buy in the long term? In my opinion, absolutely. The price initially pissed me off, BUT after having and using them frequently, I get it. Buy these if you want long term quality.

These are quite expensive, but if you can stomach the price, they are GREAT. You will never want to use a crescent wrench again. The 10:1 levering on the jaws makes these absolutely steady when used on hexagonal or square nuts or bolt heads. You can achieve nearly the same convenience as a ratchet by relaxing your grip on the backswing - it has enough play to slide over the corners until you squeeze it back against the parallel sides. It's not at all hard to use this way without damaging the fasteners, which I was pleased to find out. This means instead of fumbling around for the right wrench or socket, you can just use this one tool on nearly any size fastener. The middle size tool covers most of what you want to do, but the large size and the small size are handy - for holding the other end of the bolt, or for the biggest or smallest fasteners. It can grip TIGHTLY when used to hold a bar or sheet of something, too, although since the jaws are smooth it's not a total replacement for pliers. It IS a total replacement and a huge improvement over the familiar crescent wrench, though. Can't say enough about how nice this tool is to use. If you like to spoil yourself or use tools a lot, it's worth the cost. Get only the middle size if you want to save money.

I bought these for my work on general aviation and they have been a godsend. The adjustability and the smooth jaws makes it very versatile and leaves no scratches or imprints. The three different pliers are great for working for any size problem! Definitely one of the best purchases I've made!

I had this set in my wish list for over a year. I didn't want to spend that kind of money but I was fascinated by the high rating. I love tools and really appreciate when a company thinks outside the box for a clever design and then follows it up with high quality materials and manufacturing. I finally pulled the trigger on the set and then purchased their VERY small one days after when the price dropped by $10. I cleaned out my tool box, removing most of my pliers, channel locks and adjustable wrenches because these tools do all three jobs - better. The biggest difference with this design is that when it "locks" into place with that cam mechanism the handles don't want to separate like they do with channel locks under load. It's a really good design. Also, the jaws remain parallel at all times, which is sweet. Finally, there are no teeth to damage the hardware. I was hesitant to blow more than half of my tool budget for that pay period on four pliers but I'm really glad that I did. The few times that I've used these so far I was very pleased with them. Would you ever use channel locks on gas plumbing? Of course not, but these work fantastic, with no marring. UPDATE: After several months, I find myself using these for everything during my kitchen renovation. The various sizes means I always have the appropriate size that can get into the location. I've since bought some other Knipex tools based on my experience with these.

These have been placed at the frront of my toolbox wrench drawer. I now grab these first. Stops size guessing. You just gotta be close and they are easily adjustable. I have yet found a situation shere they did not grab as well as a conventinal wrench and grabbed squarely on the nut or bolt head when adjusted correctly.. (within reason) These get used for everyday stuff. So far the quality is outstanding. I plan on purchasing a second set for keeping on the tractor instead of a pile different wrenches. They will do just great to get back in business or to the shop. The only drawback I see is that the old wrenches are feeling neglected and are gathering a bit of dust.
