Description

TEKTON 6-point sockets are ideal for working with hex-shaped fasteners. They're designed to grip the sides and not the corners of the fastener heads, which prevents round-off. Their extended length allows the deep socket to fit over long fasteners and reach into recessed areas. The large, die-stamped markings are permanently impressed into the material and optimized for readability.

Like the other Tekton tools I've bought, these are excellent quality. Heavy chrome, well-machined, easy-read markings, just generally excellent tools for the money. I would rate these as a "prosumer" product, better than my 25-year-old USA-made Craftsman. Now. On to David M and his trashing (literally and figuratively) of the included storage rail. He complains about the extreme difficulty of prying the sockets off the rail with a big screwdriver. That, my friend, is because these are "twist-to-lock" rails, as mentioned more than once in the Amazon listing. You don't pull (or pry) the sockets off. Just turn the socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise, and the rail releases it. Reverse the procedure to put it back. I'm getting older and the old 3/8 inch set is just not cutting it any more. Even for routine tasks I need the leverage of my big 1/2 inch drive ratchet. This six point set is well made, seems very sturdy and has a full compliment of sockets from very small to large. It comes on a VERY WELL MADE storage stick that is almost too difficult to get the sockets off. Thats sweet because they won't be falling off. It's probably just me. I ordered these after being disappointed with Craftsman sockets from China and also issues with the Gear Wrench sockets I had previously had ordered (and returned due to defects) from Amazon. I ditched their socket rail and used a better one I found at Home Depot. The sockets appear well made and nice quality. Most (but not all) numbers pointed forward when installed on a socket rail. I bought these to carry in my Jeep. I wanted good quality but did not want to spend a lot of money. I used many of the sockets already and am very pleased. They are high quality. I especially like the holder. This allows me to use these in the Jeep as they stay arranged and are easy to keep track of. I have much better sockets which I would use for very high torques. But for 90% of the work, these are fine and will last forever. You simply cannot abuse them and they will work excellent. ... show more

I wanted to give them 5 stars. But the manufacturer does not deserve it based on the whole product that they sent to me, meaning sockets and socket holders. The main product is the sockets, and they are quite nice. I'd give them 5 stars for that. The plastic socket holder strips are actually a problem, and in fact are almost a danger to use. To remove all 23 sockets from these holders required the use of a large screwdriver to pry each socket off the holder. And trust me it was not easy! It took so much force that the sockets flew off with force. Seriously....it was absolutely ridiculous. I don't see how the manufacturer could have tried this and found it acceptable. Anyway the plastic holders are now in the trash where they belong. Sockets are very nice! ... show more

Good value and good build quality. Warranty is one of the best I've seen on a tool that isn't sold in many box stores. Haven't had to use it but snapping a pic of damaged tool and they ship you a new one free of charge sounds almost like the old craftsman days when they were still all American made.

sockets are great. i have numerous tekton tools and they all are high quality, much better than stuff made in china. these are made in taiwan, which everyone except china knows is not china. the holder however is not so good. reason is that the sockets lock onto the posts by turning. they hold too well and are very difficult to rotate to remove with greasy fingers. finger grease + chrome = stuck socket. ... show more
