This is actually a really fun toy but it was a bit challenging to assemble. Once I finally did figure out how to assemble it properly, my five year old grandson loves it and has been playing with it a lot. So when I went to assemble it I found the directions were difficult to understand but maybe it's just how my brain works :( there was also a screw missing which threw me off. They gave me enough screws total but there were only three of the ones with a washer attached and five without the washer which worked out fine. It was supposed to be four of each but the one without the washer still worked and has been working fine. So I would just recommend that the company review the assembly directions to maybe explain better and to be more careful with the assembly parts. I see that the dinosaur is on sale (around $29) and I think that is a more reasonable price for this toy.

I recently purchased this RC Velociraptor for my 10-year-old son's birthday, and despite a few minor hiccups, it has proven to be an excellent buy. The package arrived promptly and securely, double-boxed to ensure there were no dents, rips, or damages. Upon opening the box I was able to quickly see that all the pieces and tools were accounted for. I expected the assembly process to take 5 maybe 10 minutes at most but unfortunately it took over 40 minutes. I had to pay careful attention to the somewhat unclear instructions. We had a challenging moment with the back left leg, likely due to a wonky screw, the end result was worth the effort. This remote controlled dinosaur doesn't come with batteries, so be sure to have 2 double A batteries on hand for the remote. Another tip i have is to purchase the good batteries. I picked up the generic pack to save a couple bucks the first play time and they didn’t last 12 hours. I also wish the battery life of the actual toy (not just remote) could be better. The Dino goes for about 4/6 hours while the remote can last 10/12 hours. It’s very easy to recharge the dino, and even easier to switch out the remote. Once this toy was assembled, charged, and ready to be played with it lived up to its promise. My son was absolutely delighted! This toy is a one button remote toy, it’s very easy to use and understand. You press the button and you are able to bring this Dino to life, you can make him walk, roar, and move his tail. My son’s favorite thing about this remote control dinosaur is its fire-breathing effect; if you add just a tiny bit of water, this toy will have water mist spray under a red LED light. You can hear my sons imagination coming to life as he roars back and plays with his realistic-looking dinosaur. This toy has scales, sharp teeth, a moving tail, and can spit imaginary red fire mist. The joy this toy brings my son is heartwarming. Despite the assembly frustrations and battery considerations, the joy this toy brings to my son's face makes it deserving of a 5-star rating. His imagination has been sparked, and the daily playtime adventures are a testament to the product's success. The authentic design, impressive features, and the sheer happiness it brings to my son outweigh any minor flaws. If you're seeking an exciting and immersive gift for a dinosaur enthusiast aged 6-12, this RC Velociraptor is a perfect choice.

It's a remote control dinosaur! And it works fairly well! This little guy does take some assembly, and it does take a bit of head scratching to get it all put together. The instructions make a valiant effort to explain the process, but are still a bit confusing. For example, the thighs come attached to the legs in the box, but you actually have to remove them in order to get the screws in place for the legs, then pop them back on correctly and put their screws in. I recommend you only pull out one leg at a time so there is no chance of you mixing up which thigh goes with which leg. The arms fell off a few times as well while using it, so I just tried pushing them into place harder. So far that seems to be working. The roar is cool, along with the light, and the water spritz is cute although I don't like little drops of water all over the floor. The biggest problem I have is that the dino basically goes forward and back, that's it. No turns unless you move it forward and back repeatedly until it eventually turns in a random direction. Also it isn't very good at hitting bumps, like the threshold between rooms. Give it enough speed and hit a bump and it just basically just falls over. So with the limitations on the controls and the falling over the kids got bored fairly quickly. It goes forward, backwards, and roars, that's about it. Also, only one rechargeable battery included, so once it runs out of juice you need to recharge before fun can continue. Overall I give it a cute but meh rating. Kids who love dinos should love it though.

SOOO.. the box on the left is what I ordered. The box on the right is what I got. Yikes! It was too complicated for me to assemble. I didn't try very hard, though, because it was just... so much. If you are good at assembling things, go for it. This is not the toy for me.

This was a headache to put together! I actually had to leave it for a day and come back to it because it was so aggravating but once put together it was worth it to see all the smiles. I find it cool because he blows smoke. I don't know...It was just something different from all the other toys and we enjoyed it.
