Our previous keypad was over 8 years old and not working properly anymore so, it was finally time to replace it. I am pretty handy when it comes to having to replace certain things in the house, but I was not super confident if I could install this. But it had to be done and after following a YouTube video on how to install it (I personally do better with video instructions than image ones if I can find it), I was able to replace it successfully. It was easy to change the code and unlocks/locks well. My only small nitpick is that I am not a fan of the two beep noises it makes even when opening and closing the door from the inside. But that really is the only con and hopefully I will get use to it. Overall though, great price and works well! ... show more

The Good: This is an electronic lock that is simple to operate and works as expected. It looks really nice. An additional plus is that I was able to set a code just for my parents that would be easy for them to remember. I was surprised at the number of features given that this lock was inexpensive. A good value for sure! The installation was also fairly easy. I had to trouble shoot a couple of things in the process but that is how all projects go on an old house. 😁 I can't speak to the battery life because I only just installed it. The Meh: When this lock locks electronically it does a whole dance and light show. It's quite the process and is kind of loud. I'm not really sure why. I thought maybe the lock was struggling against some resistance but there isn't much when I use the lock manually from the inside. 🤔 The Bad: There really isn't any bad that I can think of. This is a nice looking deadbolt. Installation and setup is straightforward and easy. Lots of great features for codes, auto-relock, vacation mode, etc. Having said that, this is an ANSI grade C lock (as described) and isn't particularly sturdy. The metal parts are thin, and the inside portion is all plastic. I would not recommend this as the primary exterior lock for you home if you are looking for security. In my opinion, a simple hammer would defeat the lock with a couple of whacks. The unit I was sent was defective. All features worked except it would not allow me to manually lock the door from outside (by holding any button for 2 sec). But customer service contacted me immediately with troubleshooting instructions. Unfortunately those did not resolve the issue. Teeho sent me a replacement quickly which worked perfectly. Just successfully installed this dead bolt lock assembly. It dit exactly in the same position and as my manual one. Read some Amazon review and questions, and watched some Youtube videos. Followed install and programming directions and worked first time! Will see how long it lasts, will turn off sounds later to extend battery life but hope it doesn't turn off the display character background lights which are really convenient. Wondering about the key, though - one reply was they bought two locks and keys were different but they can't all be different. Has anyone been successful with locksmith in rekeying? If door is slightly ajar by chance, not lined up exactly, and locking mechanism engages, was concerned about if any internal parts could be damaged, gears stripped, etc. - This is pretty cool if accustomed to manual locks, may get the finger print access model later. Note: Initially and during installation w/o battery, the rotary manual knob does not appear to rotate enough to extend the locking cylinder, it feels 'stuck'. It fully released later, though ... the locking delay period works well for getting to our mailbox and back. Update: 1 week: Though lock housing inside is durable plastic, the outside is solid metal - heavier than a regular dead bolt. Have been using lock for a week and works great! 1st locksmith couldn't rekey lock, though; still looking. ... show more

I purchased this lock as a replacement for an Amazon Basics keyless lock and so far, I am delighted with this product—nice exterior look. Auto-lock feature was a must for me as family members would sometimes forget to lock the door when leaving (myself included). The buttons light up in a very pleasant light blue color. The keys on my old lock were hard and small and would require a hard push for them to register the entry. This lock’s keys are soft and very sensitive to the touch making it very easy to unlock the door. The back side of the lock is made of hard plastic which doesn’t complement the nice look on the keypad side, but this doesn’t matter as it is unseen from the outside. What really matters is the smooth operation of the lock and its features, which include: Up to 20 programable user codes. User-programable disposable codes for one-time use. Ability to set a delay for the auto-lock function (10 to 99 seconds) which is useful when you are going to get the mail and you don’t want the door locking on you shortly after you walk out. Vacation Mode which I haven’t tried yet. It also has a cool feature that allows you to enter fake numbers either before or after your access code in order to hide your code from prying eyes. I did have a little trouble programming the functions, not because of the lock itself but because the instructions were a little confusing at first. Overall, I am very happy with this product.
