    • Decent Backlit Keyboard
I ordered this because my 12-year-old keyboard is starting to show its age, and I like the idea of a backlit keyboard. I'm not a gamer, so can't speak as to its suitability for hardcore gaming, but it works just fine for me, and is almost as quiet as my old keyboard. The spacebar is a little noisy, but I'll get used to it. This keyboard is somewhat longer than my old keyboard, and the layout will take some getting used to because I've been using one with a non-standard layout for so long. The letters don't light as brightly as I'd like, but they are easier to see than the unlit keys I'm used to, so I'm not that worried about that. The instructions are kind of minimal, but do an okay job of describing how to use the function keys and how to control the RGB lighting. They left out any instruction as to how to change the color when in "static" mode, but through trial and error I found that Fn+Insert cycles through the seven backlight colors. The driver software may provide more control, but I'm using this on a Linux PC, and the software is Windows only, so I can't use it. The keyboard has been 100% plug and play, and just works, but reprogramming the function keys requires using the Linux Keyboard Shortcuts settings. (Most people won't have this issue.) ... show more

I got this keyboard to enhance my son's gaming experience since the old keyboard he had was acting funky. This keyboard is such an upgrade. He uses it all the time with his Xbox and absolutely loves it. The keys are very easy to click and they don't get stuck at all.     • Looks good on camera, but not a good daily driver.
I am only a light gamer, and I'm old school enough that the games I play are mostly with a controller with keyboard use as secondary or for chat purposes, so the touch typing experience is somewhat important to me. The larger keys, such as 'enter', would require an inconsistent amount of force to actuate, and so sometimes I'd have to hit these keys twice to get them to do what I wanted and I found this bothersome. For gaming and only occasional use as a text input, though, it's probably not so bad. The keys squeak a little when pressed, and they'll rattle if you shake them. It feels (and to an extent sounds) very cheap to type on. What it does well, though, is look good. The LEDs throughout are RGB, and there are a lot of color effects to choose from. I liked the solid blue for a futuristic but not too fancy look, but there is probably something to suit your taste. The lights also make it easy to use in the dark. If what you're looking for is a luxury appearance and you don't care much for a pleasant typing experience this keyboard might be worth considering. ... show more

    • Solid Keyboard
This is my fourth gaming keyboard and it serves my purposes. The other three keyboards were mechanical because they say mechanical keyboards are superior for gaming. They do feel good with the tactile feedback and loud clicking sound, but two of them ended up with stuck keys that would give multiple hits with only one tap. The first defective keyboard was a cheap mechanical, maybe less than $50, so they I decided to spend over a hundred dollars on the replacement. No dice, same result. The third mechanical is still working fine but it's not full size (no number pad). I don't have a dedicated gaming computer, so my home office laptop is both for work and gaming. This means the keyboard must, first of all, perform word processing duty. Typing with stuck keys is not doable of course, so defective mechanical keyboards are useless for me. I tried changing the keys but it's the board itself that is defective. So It get this membrane keyboard and give it a try. First game is Tekken 7, a fighting game. It doesn't have the same feel as a mechanical keyboard but it was good enough to win a ranked match. The next game was World of Warships and admittedly it's a slow game and it worked fine. As for typing, I'm using it to type this review and I'm getting one hit for each tap, no problems. It does everything I ask of it for less than $40, so it gets 5 stars. ... show more
