I took a chance and probably shouldn't have. I looked at the pictures and was pretty sure my 25lb Frenchie would be able to walk right under it when fully extended but in the Q&A section, people had answered that the measurement was 4.5- 5 inches from the bottom of gate to floor. Well.... that's from the lowest point. So as expected... a small/medium dog can fit right under it. Another FYI -I had it set up on a screened-in patio and the wind blew it over in the middle of the night. I wasn't shocked by any means. It's very lightweight since it's aluminum which is a great selling point. But it would easily topple if a dog jumped on it or a kid leaned on it/fell over onto it. It's a great, quality gate and probably works wonderfully for many people. Just not gonna work for me. ... show more

Heavy duty, just what I needed. Easy to assemble, but put the handles on first as one leg is slightly shorter than the other and the handles go with the “foot” with the casters. Murphy will ensure you put the wrong “foot” on the wrong “ leg”.
