Summary: Even I they were the same price, I would prefer and recommend this one for drawing/doodling and for kids . I prefer the BB for writing/notes and will buy the BB again for myself if this one breaks. I bought this for my kids (5 & 2) because my older one is always wanting to use mine. It's perfect for that. Mine is a BoogieBoard Jot, so I compared the two. Differences: Regardless of which stylus I use, this one creates thicker lines than the BB (see first two pics) and the edges of the lines aren't as well-defined. This one is more sensitive (resting my hand while I wrote created more artifacts than on the BB--see middle two pics). It also shows slightly more of the stroke pattern (see last two pics). And this one is multicolored instead of just green. This one came with extra batteries and a tiny screwdriver to open the battery compartment. BB has magnets on the back, and this one doesn't. This one comes with a plastic tether to attach the stylus if you want--initially it's hard to use the stylus on the far end, but stretching out the coil of the tether fixes that. Similarities: The brightness is about the same. I felt like BB was brighter, but when I put them side-by-side, they were the same. It might have seemed different because the BB lines are more defined along the edges. Both have replaceable batteries. The flexibility of the plastic is practically the same. ... show more

Great for car rides, coloring woth no mess and is battery operated to be turned off when not using. Kids love it and me and the spouse use it in to bed play hangman tik tac toe and share secret mesages

I wasn’t sure about these when I first opened. They were really flimsy. But surprisingly they have held up to the kids really well. They love them and the size and weight are perfect. Who knew?
