First I have to address the description of this item. The pads for the bottom of the ladder are felt not "leather" as stated. I doubt a child could put this together without adult supervision. It states if would hold "Appliances"? I wouldn't trust it to hold an appliance. I don't think I would call the wood grain paint job "fascinating" it's attractive for a whitewashed look. It is not made for small spaces it is a pretty descent size almost like a regular ladder. Sorry I can't stand when a product is so over stated. All that being said I will say it is solid, functional for a blanket ladder and was pretty easy to put together. The screws that came with it were beefy and the holes predrilled. I do wish that had added a pad to put where the ladder meets the wall to protect the wall. The felt fads on the bottom don't really do that much and are slippery on tile floors. It is pretty good product for the $40 price. I would buy it again if I needed a second one. *Update: after writing my review and reading other reviews I see where you could end up with a jacked crooked ladder. There are no instructions for putting it together. When you assemble line up one of the holes and drill (if you have a drill you likely have a hex bit and won't need to use the tedious allen wrench they supply) the screw HALFWAY in then line up the other hole, I used a flashlight to see it, then drill that screw all the way in and then return to the other screw and finish drilling that in. A couple times I had to on the other side of the ladder working your way up the ladder, hold the rung piece in line while I was drilling. If you just screw one down fully then go for the other you may end up with a crooked ladder. Wood swells and humidity affects it. If you are careful and line up the holes you should have no problem ending up with a perfectly straight ladder like I did. Also make sure the slanted wood ends are on the same end.

We bought this little ladder to hold our cozy blankets. its a bit warped but we'll keep it as it isn't completely unfortunate. Manufacturer should make sure items are able to be assembled easily. lucky for me my husband is handy and made it work
