Looooove my AC unit, my studio is 350 sqft and it cools down in like 40 minutes from being in the 80s. It’s not completely quiet but it works as white noise for me, but it’s not crazy loud. Picked this up after my old Midea unit was recalled. I didn’t know much about TCL air conditioners (though I’m a fan of their TVs), and there weren’t many reviews on this model. Took a chance—and I’m glad I did. Setup was super easy. The window brackets come pre-installed, so all I had to do was place it in the window, fold out the side panels, secure it, and seal it. One of the fastest installs I’ve done. Smart features are a nice bonus. Connecting it to the TCL app took a couple of tries but worked after scanning the QR code on the front right side. It also works with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Home, which is great for hands-free control. Cooling performance has been solid. I’ve been using it in a medium-sized living room during some hot Midwestern weather, and it’s kept the space comfortably cool. It does get a bit loud on higher settings, but otherwise runs pretty quietly. Only reason I’m docking one star is long-term reliability. Too soon to say if it’ll hold up through multiple Midwest summers, but so far it’s a great value. I’ll update if anything changes with long-term use. ... show more

    • Not energy efficient and bad condensation

I bought 3 of these units and currently am planning to return at least one of them. It has a condensation issue, literally has water misting out of the vent constantly. There is water looking on the vent as well. I also cannot for the life of me get this connected to the wifi. It fails every time I try. Which is one of the main reasons I bought it. Another annoyance - the auto mode is terrible. I can't turn it down below 73° and it also never shuts off the motor, even if I have eco mode on. So I set it to cool to have it between 70-72 and it runs continuously. My house is an ice castle and ends up being like 67-68, which is great, but the unit should shut off to save energy...like a normal AC with a thermostat. I'm considering returning all three with all of these issues, just really disappointed in this purchase. ... show more

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this AC is the best. I live in a duplex and bought this AC to replace a large portable unit. This AC is modern looking, very quiet, and cooled off the entire first floor of the house. I’ll definitely be buying a second unit for the upstairs. Well worth the money!

It’s a little bigger than other similar 12000 btu heat pumps. The ac works great and is not to loud. Had to call tech support to figure out when it stops working in heat mode -20c or around -5f. Better than all other window heat pumps thus why it cost more. The app is trash

    • Not great. Returning it. Midea was way better.

Returning it. Nothing on it works. I got this one to replace the Midea one I had that was recalled and the Midea one was way better. It just doesn’t cool well. It’s 65 outside tonight and I can’t get my room below 71 with this running full time set to 66. This one is kind of quiet but it’s rattley so it’s kind of distracting. The install instructions didn’t work for my window (old house) so we had to improvise. The steps included to connect to wifi don’t work (you need to press Eco six times to pair it, not mode and ^ like the manual says). It doesn’t have the ability to set a schedule like Midea had. I can’t get it to connect to Google Home properly to try to add a schedule that way. And the remote for some inexplicable reason has a tiny screw on the battery compartment that I can’t get open for the life of me, so I can’t even put the batteries in it and it’s useless. So it’s overall not great. Wish I could have just kept the Midea one. It was way better than this one…… ... show more

I have two of these units, both are 10,000BTU. Firs, people say these are quiet? They are rated at 55db, and that is not quiet. It sounds like there is gravel in the fan shaft. It is loud, not quiet. Second, it seems there is no way to connect to wifi, and I have tried every approach possible. Third, no idea what the controls do because they aren't consistent. Just keeping pressing different buttons until it starts cooling. Once working it does cool. ... show more
