I wanted a frame TV and I didn't want to pay Samsung prices. TCL. I didn't have any trouble mounting this TV. I saw some people that did. I'm not sure what would have been the problem. I consider that to be user error. If you have any kind of mechanical sense in your body, you will be fine. Very cut and dry. However, if you don't want to mount it, good luck finding those legs that are pictured on the product page. It does not come with them. And I couldn't find them anywhere to the point where I don't even know if they exist in real life. TCL page doesn't have anything but a rolling easel stand and I can't imagine those are flying off the shelf. So how about it? TCL.. Tell us where to get the normal legs for when you want to just set it on top of an entertainment center. Moving on, this is my second product with Google TV in it. I bought a projector last summer that had it and didn't even know this one had it but was happily surprised. It makes things easier for connection to all your other devices. Setup is a breeze for anybody with a Google account as well. It's got a nice refresh rate. If you game it sits nice and flush on the wall and comes with an extra frame color. Which almost perfectly matches the paint I've chosen in my home. Bonus! It's a little tricky messing with trying to get hdmis into the inputs once it's mounted and I'm still trying to figure out the the best approach to this. When it's that close to the wall is to be expected. So do that before you hang it the final time. I even hung an extra one for future use so I won't have to go through it again. As for the gallery feature on the TV... I actually quite love it I actually quite like it. There's quite a bit of stuff on there. I couldn't find my favorites but maybe there will be some add-ons hopefully. And if you're not happy with what's on there, you can generate your own AI images. There's not a whole lot of options with the AI, but there's enough to give you something to play with. Lots of settings for it too. And you can even choose to play attached music for each piece. Kind of neat to have it on for ambience When you're not using the TV for other things. I usually stick with Samsung And did look at their frame TVs first. But when I saw that I could get one for cheaper. I thought I'd try it. And to compare Google TV to Samsung's interface I would say Google TV is loaded. And as it's newer it will probably continue to get better. I will have no problem buying products from Google or TCL in the future. ... show more

We purchased this TV as an upgrade to our older LG 75in panel and specifically wanted a frame-style TV to dress up a built in bookcase we are planning. Positives: - very thin - beautiful panel with good color reproduction - lots of free art pieces including moving screen savers with sound like a fireplace, a cabin with rain, or a beach - included extra bezel - relatively easy to wall mount alone - GoogleTV interface Negatives: - GoogleTV interface (only you can decide if you like it) - while the included remote is nice, you have to have it pointed directly at the receiver on the panel for it to register - while beautiful and bright this panel does get hot ... show more

Beautiful tv but stopped working 2 days later. Started freezing and becoming unresponsive and now it doesn’t move beyond the logo phase. Have been through hoops with their warranty dept and now have to go through the trouble of taking this one off my wall, returning it and waiting for a replacement. I should’ve just spent the extra money and went with a Samsung. While it was working, the sound quality was horrendous and the lighting was mid. This tv has a brilliant resolution and creates a vibrant and detailed picture with excellent sound quality. The many smart features are a plus and gives our new space a beautiful and classy aesthetic appeal. The remote eliminates the need for additional devices. It is simple to use and customize. This frame type look has no gap between the wall and the mount and gives our area a unique look. This is worth the money.     • Pretty nice TV, pretty terrible mounting system installation
Size: 55 inches Style: TV only
The TV itself is nice. It fits flush against the wall and looks less obviously TV-like than other options, which is what I wanted for the space. Installing the mounting system, however is not easy. For one, the template provided for the location of the mounting brackets requires modification for the 55" TV, and this is noted only deep in the instructions, in very fine print. Also, the dotted lines on the template that are supposed to guide this modification step are not printed in the correct location, so getting the template set up properly took a lot of measurement, trial, and error. Furthermore, the mounts are small enough and spaced in a way where it is possible that you might encounter no wall studs in a standard US construction wall (drywall with wood studs 16" on center). This is what happened to me. If they had made the two mounting plates at least 16 inches wide, I would have been able to have at least two bolts into the stud on each plate. Instead I had to use wall anchors. I tried to use the wall anchors provided in the kit. Do not use them, they are trash. They claim to be for drywall, but they are for masonry walls. The design of the anchors provides no secure anchorage in standard 1/2 inch drywall. When I used them, they ended up spinning freely in the drywall when tightened down all the way. Instead I used some locally purchased 75 pound drywall anchors, screws, and washers. Further complicating the installation process, the provided power cord is not the flush 90 degree type, so plan to have a recessed outlet installed behind the TV if you want the truly seamless look. The TV itself functions well. The included art is decent, but I look forward to putting my own art collection together eventually instead. The only flaw in the TV function is that the sound quality is rather weak. I think this is a result of the extremely thin form factor of the TV, which necessitates compromises in speaker box design. For my needs it is adequate; I just wanted a TV that I could watch while working in the kitchen but that would otherwise blend in with the decor, but if this were my primary TV I would definitely be looking to use some sort of external speaker system. The TV does pair nicely with my Echo Studio and that did sound much nicer. Overall, I'm happy with the product, even if the installation process could be significantly improved. However, I would not want this as my primary television due to the poor sound quality. ... show more
