  • Impressed with TCL
I have this TV next to a LG CX 4K which would be considered a close competitor to this tv so will mention some comparisons in this review to help someone who might be considering which one to choose. The TCL 6 Series 8K tv has an impressive picture on it. It has vibrant colors and great contrast for a LED tv. The contrast is very close to my LG CX OLED. With the color saturation, brightness, and the 8K upscaling of the mini LED it will outshine the CX in a lot of scenes. The fine detail in the 8K picture is impressive compared to a 4K, even considering that there is very little native 8K content the upscaling from 720P and up is very noticeable. However the TV does have some faults to it. The colors do get washed out the more of an angle you sit from the TCL. Pretty noticable compared to an OLED. If you sit on an angle from this tv you will lose some of the picture quality. More so the wider angle you get. Not that bad on slight angles. It also took some fine tuning to get the motion control to look smooth. From factory settings it can appear some what choppy compared to the CX, but this was a fixable issue by changing the picture mode to sports and turning on game mode. My personal opinion with the 2 TVs next to each other I would take the TCL 8K Mini LED over my CX 4K OLED. If you have it set up in a place where you will have a wide viewing angle you will want to keep in mind that the biggest flaw on this TV is it will washout and lose picture quality the more of an angle you get from it. ... show more

  • Best 8K TV On A Budget
I was between this TV and the 65inch LG 8K. The LG has 4 2.1 HDMI ports but no VRR. This TV only has 2 2.1 HDMI ports but it does have VRR. I figured not a big deal because I could just get an 8K 2.1 HDMI switch when the time comes. Also, VRR is important to me for gaming. Not to mention I had a HORRIBLE experience with LG where my TV was under warranty, found a shop that actually had the panel to fix the TV, but LG pretty much gave me the middle finger instead. Having this TV is like rediscovering TV for the first time. Cable TV, streaming, UHD disk, PS5; everything looks amazing on this TV. Sure there's no real 8K content yet except on YouTube but still, the way it makes everything else look doesn't matter. Paired with my LG atmos sound system I now have a complete home theater. Few things thing I will say is that any content under 480p that isn't upscaled thru a UHD player isn't going to look that much better. The TV seems to have an issue with my Knivio HDMI switch where it wont recognize it unless I unplugg & plug the HDMI cord. Lastly, I tested the actual TV speakers and lets just say if I didn't already have a sound system I would at the very least buy a good soundbar to go with this TV. ... show more

  • Several malfunctions after a week
I had very high hopes for this tv when I ordered it. The value is phenomenal for what you are getting. The picture looked great and I was impressed with it. The first malfunction was the tv didn't want to connect to the PS5. It would kick me out of that input and back to the home screen. I would have to unplug the tv for about a minute and plug it back in to work. When the tv would go into hibernation, it would freeze and not come out of sleep mode. This seemed to happen a good bit and it was frustrating. Lastly, I turned it on and a thin yellow vertical line appeared on the left side of the screen. I ran through all of the diagnostic procedures and tried everything the manufacture recommended. The line never went away and I processed my return with Amazon. The TV was shipped through XPO. The TV arrived in great shape and the box didn't have any damage. My only complaint with XPO is how long it took to get the TV. My arrival date got cancelled the day of delivery because they said there were no trucks to deliver from there drop point. This was extremely frustrating because you clear a whole day waiting for a TV and they just cancel on you. This was my first time buying a big TV online and I had several reservations before I went through with it. The biggest hassle is repackaging the TV for a return. I'm not sure if I'll go through this process again after this experience. ... show more

  • Beware
I DID love my 8k 65 inch tv. But now it’s just a black screen. Won’t turn off or on. I worked with the technology team and they sent me to the warranty team. It has been a week with no tv and warranty is not responding to my many requests for updates. I think they should send me a new one, instead of putting a fix on this one. Very frustrating!! I paid too much for this one to have it frustrating me! ... show more
