  • Great 65" TV, excellent value. Iffy sound.
The picture is incredible. Previously I had a 55" TCL/Roku TV, set a bit farther away, and I liked it. But I couldn't see the difference between HD and 4K. Well, add 10" and sit a few feet closer, and the difference is striking -- at first I almost got dizzy watching some moving scenes. I went ahead and paid the extra for 4k Netflix and am happy with that. The sound is what I would expect from a thin, light TV like this. Not a lot of bass, not a lot of midrange power & clarity. For the price of this TV you can add a good sound system and still be ahead pricewise. But currently we're watching it without added sound and it's good enough not to be annoying. It's surprising how light such a big TV is. I will be mounting it, and while I know I "should" have help, I probably will do it alone and won't worry. I'm in my 60's in (at best) half decent shape but I don't work out, so you don't need to be an athlete to pick this up. Small, slight people would have trouble. BTW we got this TV because we were very happy with the Roku TCL 55" we got 3 or 4 years ago but need to replace due to moving. The Roku app works fine. My wife says it's a little slow to start a new app; I haven't noticed that. If 5 or 10 years from now the internal Roku just can't handle it due to new software always needing more CPU horsepower or memory, I'll spend $30 and get a Roku stick. Meanwhile it's nice to have just one zapper to do everything. I knocked one star off of "remote" simply because the remote does not have a microphone. You can probably do that using the Roku app. The Roku app isn't the greatest, though; it can't handle certain things if your phone has lots of pictures. (I'd like to set up my photos for screensave mode and the app has that feature but it doesn't work because my phone has too many pictures.) But that's not TCL's fault. ... show more

  • 3 year review
Size: 55 in Style: TV
After 3 years of use this 55” TV has been great. Had issues with previous TCL Roku TV’s in the past around the 2 year mark, but this one survived and has been going strong. Same great picture quality, and paired with the Alto 6+ sound bar, excellent sound quality as well. Glad I kept coming back to TCL over the years after previous failures because this one is worth it. ... show more

  • Late review, but still going strong after 3+ years!
Okay, I’m a little late to the review party, but I’ve had this 65” TCL TV for over 3 years now and figured it deserves some praise. Honestly, it’s been one of the best investments I’ve made for my home setup. The picture quality is still amazing — crisp, vibrant, and perfect for both streaming and gaming. I use it almost daily, and it hasn’t had a single issue. No dead pixels, no weird glitches, nothing. Super smooth with my PS5 and handles 4K content like a champ. Definitely worth the money. Would buy again without hesitation! ... show more

  • A Real Good TV for Price
Size: 55 in Style: TV
I am loving this TCL Roku TV. The Roku in the TV works better than the stick I have for my living room TV (non-TCL TV) and the Roku app adds additional functionality I could not find anywhere near the price point of this TV. The picture quality is pretty decent (the LED backlighting is not the best, but you have to be looking for the lighting issues to see them) but everything I use looks great on it even when there are action scenes. Pros: 1.) Great Price! 2.) Decent Quality 3.) Small and simple controller (Pretty much standard Roku) 4.) Roku runs the entire TV 5.) All the apps just work and the TV just works (which I can't say the same for my other way more expensive TV) Cons: 1.) No ability to adjust contrast, color temps, etc (although factory defaults look good) 2.) Has no bluetooth capability built in or any other fancy extras (You can use the Roku app to listen to the TV through a phone or tablet which is how I use it for night time TV watching with wireless bluetooth buds connected to my phone, but the audio is just a little out of alignment...just enough to where I need to tell myself to stop watching lips move. Have not been able to find any settings to set the delay on video or picture to compensate like I can on my pricier living room TV. 3.) Almost no TV related settings to tweak as the Roku operating system does not appear to have the ability to do this. Not surprising for the price of the TV. All in all, at the end of the day I am much much happier with this TV than I am with my "main" TV which is a much pricier TV made by a different company (whose name rhymes with Ram Tongue). It does not have any bells or whistles so for people who love to mess with myriad settings this is not a good TV for them...but if you want a really good TV that just works and is really easy to set up and use, this is the TV for you. A very solid 4 star, bordering on 5 star product. TCL and Roku really made a nice product here that I feel I got more than my moneys worth. I would and will buy again (eyeing the 65" or larger to replace my main TV in the near future) ... show more
