Fantastic Value on an HDTV with tons of features that can't be beat. TCL even had awesome packaging on the HDTV to protect the screen. Actually some of the best packaging I've ever seen on a TV like this. The thing works great right out of the box and those that want to tweak settings you'll be able to easily do that too but most won't find it necessary to do. Easy setup and eARC makes it easy for setup of other components that take advantage of that like AVRs and Soundbars. 4 HDMI inputs on this one so you shouldn't have any issues hooking it up to your other HDMI components. Remote is basic and easy to use without having to consult convoluted directions. The thing just works and it works great at that. Very pleased with it and honestly this is my third TCL TV so I appreciate the value they offer in a quality product. Give one of these a try and I bet you won't be disappointed with it. ... show more

I bought this to replace the old Samsung tv on our covered patio that had finally bit the dust. This is my third TCL tv purchase. Their price point is always competitive, they are easy to set up, and very lightweight. I had no problem wall mounting it myself (55 yr old woman). The picture quality is quite good for a tv in this price point (and even better than some more expensive ones). One reason I keep buying the TCL brand is because they have the features I want. They look nice, the picture is good without having to adjust anything, and the sound quality is good without having to add external speakers. It took me maybe 15 minutes from the time I took it out of the box to having it up and running. I was able to log in to my Roku account and have all my apps ready to go. ... show more

Sound is lacking, over all a great deal...

I bought this tv as a direct replacement of another Roku that died on me... It was about 6 years old and got the "black screen of death." I could have fixed it, sure, but when I found out that I could get a new tv for about the same cost as repairing the old one, why bother? Anyway, I'm happy with my purchase, this tv is fantastic! The picture is awesome and I really like ROKU's operating system... Setup is super simple, adding apps and customizing it to suit preferences is simple, too. My complaints are few, but there are a couple, hence the 4-star rating... The sound is not that great, lacking in fact. I'm a musician and this tv sounds "hollow" to me. Like it desperately needs an EQ adjustment and some more power! Streaming movies and such, the sound is "ok," but it needs more umph to it IMO. A sound bar would probably do wonders, but that's an additional expense... The sound is pretty disappointing in actuality, but not intolerable. The other thing I don't particularly care for is a feature that the remote should have. As mentioned, I'm used to it from my old Roku tv remote (which is almost identical btw), but it could use a backlight for use in the dark. But that's really my only complaint about the remote itself. It's simple and effective/efficient. A bonus though, if you have a smartphone, you can download the free Roku remote app and use that as the tv remote. Seems to be the wave of the future I think? In fact, tv's in the future may not even come with a physical remote, you'll have to download it... Anyway, the downloaded app has way more features on it than the physical remote does, including being backlit... I'm pretty impressed with the remote app actually, but still just use the physical remote it came with. All in all, I'm quite satisfied with this tv. When/if it dies on me like the old one did, I'll more than likely buy another one. ... show more

Delighted! My old LG bit the dust and I immediately went to Amazon to order a TCL. This TV combines my two favorite TV streaming devices, Roku and TCL. After reading some negative reviews I was a bit worried about the sound quality and picture. Turns out they were wrong. After opening the box and mounting the TV on the wall setup was fairly easy. However, some streaming services did not look very good. HBO Gilded Age looked dark even selecting 'Brightest' in the menu. Upon further investigation and reading the manual the * button on the remote brings up a settings menu which solves all problems. One of which being the low power setting it was shipped with. Spent about an hour going through the picture menu. Also the expert settings. After changing picture settings the Age was Gilded once more. Best bang for your buck. Built-In speakers may be a little weak for the home theater crowd. I'm using the fiber optic port to send audio to a 2.1 stereo system. Did I mention I am delighted. So easy to set up!!!

First let me tell you I am a senior citizen and have had this TV for less than a week. Our original TV died and we needed something fairly quickly. I did a lot of research beforehand and this brand had good reviews. We have a sitting area in our bedroom and use this Smart 43 inch TV there. There are several services we use for streaming. We do not do anything complicated. We simply watch TV and movies. Did I mention we are seniors, lol? The Roku TV came very well packed, was solid but lightweight enough for my husband to manage. I was dreading the whole set up process; however, was very surprised at how easy and quick it was to get up and running with all of our apps. We find the picture and sound quality to be excellent but I can see where younger folks may want to use more accessories to enhance them. I am still in shock at the affordable price of this TV. You do get an additional 90 days of warranty protection with the original 12 months without any extra charge if you register your product online. This Roku Smart TV is a good quality item with a decent warranty for an excellent price. ... show more

roku conducting suspicious practices

Update. 0 stars. Roku rolled out a new arbitration agreement forcing you to agree or not use your tv in anyway through a popup that locked everything. This arbitration agreement means you can never sue them in court (only arbitrate by their own people conveniently) and wildly burdens you to opt out by physical mail but can't continue to use the tv unless you agree. This is extremely anti consumer and everyone should be made aware of the disgusting practices the company is doing shamelessly. Go watch videos on this explaining it further. Tv was thrown out as my other roku devices for open source alternatives android tv boxes. Original which doesn't apply anymore below ----- Couldnt find another 5 series roku qled model like the past few years so this was the only alternative and was not disappointed. Much better than my 2016 4 series and just as good as my 2021 5 series qled roku tv. No extra features weighing down the os that i usually turn off like motion smoothing. No privacy invasive voice remote (although you can purchase one if you want it). Minimal ghosting in extreme test which some is natural for tvs. (By comparison lg ur8000 2023 model uses a terrible VA panel with severe ghosting). Colors are great and have better adjustment range than previous 4 series I've owned. "Bezelless" design is sleek and nice to look at although the sensor bar in the lower middle is too big for my taste in comparison to the 55s535 which perfected the design imo. Although im sad theres no qled model for this year by tcl for roku, the price of this was well worth it at time of writing. 299 for 50". ... show more
