So upon opening and inspecting this product I will say all the components seem thick and heavy duty. I cant speak for the strength of the steel because I haven't put it under any kind of load yet but I did notice some pretty big inconsistencies. For 1 this cable puller is advertised to have a 5 ton breaking strength but the limited (one page) instructions it cane with say it's a 4 ton.. so that's about a 2000lb difference right there. For 2 the description on this product claims it has 12 feet of cable.. I'm measuring 8 feet and you cant even pull all the cable out completely so you really only get a little over 7 feet. The whole reason I bought this thing was because it was a 5 ton 12 foot cable puller. Turns out its actually a 4 ton ~8ft puller just with a higher price. This is a chinese mad product and after close inspection looks completely identical to the 4 ton puller harbor freight carrys for over $20 cheaper. Over all it seems like a decent puller and I'm sure it will come in handy but had I known the actual specs of the product I may have chosen a different product, or atleast a different seller. I dont appreciate being lied to just so you can charge me a higher price. ... show more

I have no doubt itis a good strong product. My only problem with it is the weight. I'm up in years, and recently had shoulder surgery. Because of that, this pulley is so heavy I can't lift it in place where I could use it. It would be a fine product for a younger healthy user.

I use this to drag large fallen oaks around. My old ones were too weak but this one is stout as hell. Really good bang for the buck.

I am leery of using it without a ton of snap blankets on it. the handle slips off easily. The material and rivets are pretty cheapo feeling in the hand. It's obviously not as ratable as known brand name PPE gear -- I am almost afraid to try it.
