  • Great for road trips
My oldest cat cannot stand car rides. He spends the entire ride in a panic, and the only time he stops yelling (and I mean yelling- if you know you know) is when he gets too exhausted to do so. When I previously moved years ago, I simply let him roam the cabin. Very big mistake- he was a gigantic distraction by running everywhere and screaming in my ear. Even when he settled on my lap he became a hazard because it was difficult to move the steering wheel in response to sudden changes in road condition. So I knew I needed a different approach when I needed to move 12 hours away, this time with TWO cats. I hate tiny carrying crates for even going to the vet, and I had initially been hoping to get some sort of front-back separator for my car, but every option I looked at either wouldn’t fit my car, was made exclusively for dogs that couldn’t do gymnastics like a cat can, and/or was outside of my budget. This pen ended up being a great solution. I worried about the lack of access to food/water and litter box, but it just forced me to make stops every 2-3 hours to check if anyone needed food/water or restroom (frequent breaks are necessary on road trips but I tend to make the dangerous decision to ignore them so this was very good for me). Turns out the answer was they didn’t need access to those things because stressed out cats don’t want to do any of that. I initially separated my oldest (Jiji) and youngest (Vincent) cat because Jiji tends to get bitey when Vinny’s anxious (I don’t know why he gets so mad when Vincent’s upset 😭. Like boy you’re making things worse stop why are you cat-punching a crying child???) but decided to keep them together during the final few hours of the trip when Jiji finally exhausted himself and they instantly cuddled together. So it’s big enough to accommodate at least two cats or a cat and a small litter box if you’d like (I didn’t because I did not want Jiji lying down in the litter box. This was not solved as when I made stops and let him out both he and Vincent would get in the litter box and not use it. Thanks buddies for spreading bathroom bits over my vehicle for no reason). For size reference, it was big enough for my 13” at the shoulders cat to comfortably sit up in- which was a must for me. I drive a 2012 Toyota Camri and it reached more than halfway across the backseat- plenty of space for him to pace. The sides are propped by poles, so I don’t know if you would be able to mash two of these together in the backseat of a car like mine without serious deformation. It was wide enough that it hung over the seat edge a bit but was also sturdy enough that the top would support the structure from falling off the seat if pressure was applied at the edge by tipping forward against the passenger seat, tilting back into its resting position when pressure was no longer applied at the edge. (If anyone is wondering I purchased a hidey hole to place behind the driver’s seat and also created a hidey cave on the rest of the backseat for Vinny to be in because he is much better behaved in the vehicle and spent most of the trip quiet and hiding). It was sturdy enough to withstand Jiji, a rather muscular little man, trying to panic dig and claw his way out. Similar cheaper products seemed to have a problem with this, so I went with this one because it seemed sturdier- and it was! Both the front and top entrances were very convenient and I used both. The little storage pouches were also very nice for keeping treats that Jiji refused to accept out of anxiety and Vinny lightly snacked on, as well as their harnesses in case of emergency. The assembly/disassembly was a breeze and it is incredibly portable. This helped me feel so much less anxious if I needed to slam on my brakes (I had to go through Atlanta traffic so that was definitely put to the test even as I was trying my best to drive in a way that avoided such things). Even if Jiji would still most likely slam into the seat if I ever needed to decelerate too quickly, it was still safer than if he was more free-roaming. I do wish I was able to buckle it in in the back, but it wasn’t made for that, so I suppose it’s forgivable. I highly recommend this if you’re like me and hate small enclosures for long trips but need to put your cat somewhere safe during one. At the end of the day you know what’s best for your individual animal’s unique needs and personality, and what makes them most comfortable. If you’re in a similar situation to mine, I hope this review helped you and good luck! ... show more

  • Perfect Portable Playpen for Kittens!
This portable pet playpen is great for my kittens! It’s spacious enough for them to play and explore, yet compact enough to move around easily. The mesh sides allow for good ventilation, and I love how secure it feels. It’s lightweight and easy to set up, making it perfect for indoor and outdoor use. My kittens enjoy having a safe space to play, and I feel comfortable knowing they’re contained but still have room to move around. Highly recommend for pet owners with small animals! ... show more

  • Do not use for frisky puppies.
I think it was well worth the money. It is very pretty. Roomy enough for your dog to be comfortable in. But the mesh is not strong enough for a puppy or a dog that likes to scratch or dig. Two of the mesh areas are torn apart and served as an escape route for my little dog. It would be nice if the mesh could be reinforced and made a little stronger. Although it is very easy to set up and to take down. And to carry around. I would highly recommend it for a dog or pet that will not scratch his way out of it. ... show more

  • Dog and cat love it!
I bought this for a neighborhood stray that decided to spend most of its time at my house. My son wanted to bring her inside at night and during bad weather so, I bought this for her to stay in. She likes it. At first she didn’t want to stay in it just because she was in the house and wanted to explore but, eventually she started sleeping in it - when she wasn’t sleeping in her other favorite spot. It’s big enough to put a small cat/dog bed inside, as well as a litter box - which is where hers is kept when she’s inside. My 5lb yorkie has also decided that it is one of her favorite places to sleep as well. She seems to like it better than her own bed. It is very cute. It’s light and can easily be moved around or folded up and put away when not being used. It is made of a somewhat thin material (like a tent) and the doors/windows are mesh so -it’s safe & sturdy enough to keep less active pets in but, if you’ve got a chewer, digger, or an escape artist on your hands, I wouldn’t recommend because it definitely wouldn’t be hard to get out of if they were trying. There is a zippered mesh door on 2 sides so you can put it up against a wall and your pet will still be able to go in and out, as well as a large mesh access on the top. Overall it was worth buying, and I’m happy with it. ... show more

  • Zippers failed within a day, 2lb yorkie puppy able to escape, replacement could not be set up
I love the idea of the rectangular shape given limited space. Very cute fabric too! The first one I received was easy to set up, the stabilizer rods were able to be easily inserted into the channels. Within the first day, however, I returned to my bedroom after a short time away only to find the puppy had escaped and the door was unzipped. After a few times of this happening, I discovered that the zipper was already broken, so I flipped the pen around around and put that side against the wall and then requested a replacement from Amazon. Puppy was still able to slip out through the broken door (shes very tiny) even though the 2nd side zipper was holding up. The top zipper was also defective, btw, so I couldn't zip it closed to keep my other dogs from trying to jump in to hang out with her (and try to eat her food). The replacement that was sent was a whole nother story. It came within a day which was great, BUT.. you could not insert the rods that hold the walls up into a couple of insertion points, they had been sewn closed and there was no way to try to get through to secure the walls, so I packed it back up (was not easy to refold, btw) and contacted Amazon again. Now I need to find an alternative type of pen. There are a number of these soft sided rectangular pens available, but given the bad luck I've had, I don't think it's worth the risk. so my advice, stay away.. far away! The product is not sturdy, has cheap, crappy zippers, and it is altogether very poorly made. ... show more
