  • Perfect Fit. Easy Install. Much Cheaper Than Buying From a Dealer
My SRM210 was new before ethanol mixture became 10% (or more) by federal regulation. We Virginians got a bad mixture one summer where the blend was "accidentally" 22% across the commonwealth (documentation can be found by looking up the lawsuits filed) and my primer bulb, fuel lines and carburetor all had to be replaced that summer. The dealer wanted an arm and leg for them but I had no choice but to pay the fees or buy another trimmer. Fuel stabilizer helped the replacement last 7 seasons but I knew at the end of last season the carburetor was about shot again but forgot all about it over the winter. I got 2 trimmings this spring and on the third I was able to gimp it through by holding it just right, holding the throttle just right, holding my tongue just right and what usually takes about an hour to trim took about 4 hours. I don't have time this week to get to my local dealer so I figured I'll try Amazon so I can get it shipped to my house instead. I was amazed at the price difference, so much so I thought it was too good to be true. It took about 15 minutes to get everything changed over (I didn't change plugs because it's a no name and my other is less than a season old) and after pumping the bulb enough times to fill it with gas it started on the second pull. It's been a LOT of seasons since it did that. It ran very well for about a minute then acted like it was out of gas. I filled the tank the rest of the way ( Exxon gas is only about 2 weeks old and has marine grade fuel stabilizer mixed in ), fired it up and other than at full throttle it ran like a new trimmer. A slight adjustment of the high adjuster and voila, great to go. Other than the body and shaft looking its age I feel like I have a new trimmer and got the whole kit for about 1/4 what I paid for just a carburetor last time . Time will tell if it lasts 7 seasons like my last one but for the price paid if it lasts 2 I'll be happy. It said in the description it's made for 10% ethanol mix but the gas lines look like they're not going to hold up too long, no biggie as I've got a few feet of a higher grade in my shed if it wears out. So much has changed since the unit was new the cheaper looking line might actually be better than the semi clear/thicker od I've got on my shed. Again time will tell. If you can turn 2 bolts (loosen, tighten) and put the throttle cable on after taking it off the old you can save yourself a ton of money and time without your trimmer and replace it yourself in under an hour. There's probably a YouTube out there if you have trouble with any of it, including adjusting the fuel mixture of it runs wonky after changing it. Great fit, great price. ... show more

  • This Hipa Carburetor works FLAWLESS!!! This Hipa Carburetor works FLAWLESS!!!
OK so today is July 7th and I just received my Hipa Carburetor kit. I got home from work and I was excited to see that it had arrived. I went to the backyard and installed it. It took me around 15 minutes because I had forgot how to remove the wire that goes on the little screw on the carburetor. I had to stop and watch a youtube video on how to do it. After I install the wire, I then installed the fuel line. Then I attached the hoses, then the gasket, then the two screws, then the air filter, and the air filter cover. I then pump the primer bulb and wholaa I see the gas pump right in. OMG!! I haven't seen that since I bought my echo trimmer 5 years ago from home depot. It started on the second pull. I was like whaaattt!?? This thing rocks!! So let me tell you something. On saturday July 2nd, I had went to home depot and i purchased all of the echo orinal parts. I got the air filter, the spark plug, the fuel line and the primer bulb. I was just going to buy the primer bulb because that was the only thing broken but i decided that i might well just do a tune up because i never did any maintenance since I bought it. I got home and after installing everything the stupid primer bulb wasn't filling up with gas. I did so much research on the internet and try so many variations but still no luck getting gas into the new install primer bulb. So I went on amazon and saw this entire carburetor kit. Ok so check this out. With all the parts I purchased at home depot it came out to $55 dollars. I went back to home depot and got a full refund. I got home and decided to buy this Hipa carburetor kit based on all of the excellent reviews. I am so glad I tooked a chance on this. And I only payed $26.12 total with tax and shipping included! And now my trimmer in running like new. The reason why the primer bulb was not working must of been because one of the little valves inside of the original carburetor was clogged or not working properly. I wasn't going to open that up way to complicated. Let me tell you that when I went to home depot to get a refund for all of the echo parts I had purchased, I almost ended up buying a new trimmer. I was like well, my echo trimmer lasted me 5 years, now bad for $150 investment I might just well buy another one. But then I stop and decided to go home and do more research on how to fix it and I am so happy that I purchased this Hipa Kit because it works flawless. I went to the backyard and front yard and trim all of the edges. After I finished my hands were shaking for like 20 minutes. I remember that feeling a long time ago when it used to work like new. Now my Echo GT-200R is running like brand new and I can't wait for the grass to grow to trim again. The only thing I need to worry about now is buying a faceshield because the safety glasses i have only protect my eyes but when i trim i get hit in the face and it hurts. Also I am going to do research on buying a really strong trim line that doesn't break easily so I don't have to be changing the line over and over. Anyhow, thank you Hippa for making this awesome carburetor kit. You save me soooo much money and I felt happy changing this myself. You rock!!! 5 HUGE STARS FOR YOU!! ... show more

  • Fits the Echo GT200R
Fits the Echo GT200R. Easy installation (fuel line grommet requires some patience to properly set, it is a little tight but it fits). Kit includes spare air filter and priming bubbles. Started up, idles, and throttles perfectly.

  • Works , will need adj.
The fit was good however you will need a special tool to adjust the high setting as it was way off and would bog out badly . For a Carb. It has a very good price and value .

  • Great product, don't be a throw-away consumer
I have a 15 year old ECHO weeder and it wouldn't start. It was pretty beat up, so, like a good new-age consumer, I reflexively went off to Home Depot and bought a new one for $160. When I got home, it hit me how much of a waste it wad for me to toss out the old one, that looked fine, it was just beat up. So I googled "repair echo weeder" and came upon this product, looked up the model number, ordered this product and it came within 6 days, a little slow compared to most Amazon shipments, but it wasent urgent, so I didn't mark that against the product, but if you're in a hurry, you might not get it in time, I opened the packaging, surprisingly, it came in a cheap mailing envelope. I opened up the product, concerned as there was no documentation, just a plastic bag and then thought it would be complicated to install with no documentation, but it was not. It was quite simple. Take off the air filter, two screws takes the entire carburetor off, pull off the throttle, and pull out the gas and air lines and put on the new one. The only trick was fitting the tubes into the gas tank, the gasket didn't fit, it was too snug. So I pulled out the gas line giving it a little more room to compress, pushed it in with a screwdriver but then the gas line would not fit back into the hole, so I put a little oil on it, and it slipped right in. Don't forget the two gaskets for the engine and air filter interfaces. I put some gas/oil mixture in, choked it up, and the baby started just like new. For $25, I was very pleased. I returned my new weeder to Home Depot as it was virtually identical to my old one. Very pleased to save $130 Some might mark against the product, the lack of documentation, the very cheap mailing envelope for shipping, and the slow shipping. But, in the end, it was easy to install, worked perfectly and who cares how its shipped really... I just didn't expect it to come in the mail as opposed to other amazon products that ship in boxes. Would buy again, no question. Michael ... show more

  • Better, but still needs improvement
Purchased this for a 12 year old SRM-210. The carb looks and fits identical to the Zama, but did not function at all to spec. I was able to get the engine started, but it was obviously running very lean and would only run with the choke set. There is no adjustable high-speed needle, so there is nothing I could do unless I wanted to start drilling and experimenting, which I did not. I transferred the primer bulb to my old carb and reinstalled it, and everything ran great. For a MONTH. Was using the trimmer last night and it suddenly ran out of fuel and died. Added fuel even though it still had about 1/4 tank and could still only get the engine to run with unit tilted in one direction. Long story short, the black fuel line with the weighted filter had rotted apart and completely broke off at the grommet and dropped inside the tank. The quality of the black rubber hose is basically junk. It didn't even last on month before completely deteriorating. Learned my lesson not using factory replacement parts. UPDATE........ My original review was from 2016. Not realizing this was the same item I ordered back then, I ordered another. This time, the carb seems to work well. I had to lean-up the high-speed slightly, but the low-speed was good as set. With the new carb, the trimmer will not start after sitting even for a few minutes, without requiring one pull with the choke on, take it off, and then it will fire-up and settle into a stable idle. I can live with that, but it shouldn't be that way. Overall, this is a big improvement over the carb I received last time which could not be adjusted. The fuel lines are still a problem. They are very thick and stiff, and the grommet is quite difficult to install in the tank. Lube it up really good and use a flat screwdriver to go around and push the edges in. The stiff lines mean the weighted clunk/filter will not adjust its position in the tank as you maneuver the trimmer around, so the possibility exists the engine will run out of fuel when the tank is not totally empty. The return line is supposed to be see-through so you can verify that the priming bulb is working and not black as supplied. HIPA sells the line kit by itself, and it includes the correct yellow return line - what's up with that? My tank is leaking slightly. I can't tell if it's the perimeter of the grommet, or around the lines. I'm hoping that some use and time will help swell the rubber and make it seal. I have a feeling I will once again be replacing the lines with an OEM Echo set. Definitely an improvement over the last review, but still far from excellent. I guess I didn't totally learn my lesson after all. ... show more
