We purchased this to cover auto parts that are on a metal storage rack in our side yard. Bought at the beginning of May and as of today, July 28, it is in the garbage. Not nearly as heavy duty, durable or UV resistant as advertised. Would not recommend or purchase again unless you live somewhere with year round mild conditions. ... show more

    • Tight Weave, Thicker, And All Around More Durable Than The Lighter Options

I recently got several tarps and while I've been through MANY tarps in my life (having had a small farm and also used to have a Garden Maintenance business) I never really looked at what made the difference between the different weights/"duty" labels. Well, having them all together I'm more educated and can pass on what I've learned. It was easy to tell that this is the strongest of the new tarps in my possession. The weight alone makes that clear. As an example, this 9x12' Heavy Duty tarp weighs just over 4lbs where my 12x16 light duty tarp weighs 3lbs. So while the lighter tarp is roughly 25% bigger, it's also 25% lighter. Another thing that helps with the strength is the "weave count". These tarps are actually made of woven Polyethylene. My Light Duty tarp has an 8x8 weave. A Medium Duty that I have has 8x10 "threads" per inch. While the Heavy Duty tarp has a 14x14 weave count per inch. All in all this tarp is built to last and is the best of the 3 tarps I've recently acquired by far. I currently have 3/4 of an acre and to a lot of gardening so this will be used to cover my 8 cubic yds of compost I get each Spring, and will likely be used to cover many items over the course of several years. I'm hard on tarps to having a few really good ones is a necessity for me. I expect this one to last several years at least based on the construction and my past experience with tarps. This tarp will either cover a wood pile or the side of our generator enclosure. It's not quite as thick as I would expect for a heavy duty tarp, but it seems sturdy.

Strong but lightweight this waterproof UV resistant tarp isn’t too heavy to maneuver and it has aluminum grommets so it can be secured with rope or bungee cords with reasonable assurance they won’t tear through the reinforced edge. Similar but heavier than the common crinkly sounding bright blue tarps, I selected a large brown/black 9 by 12 foot tarp because it can accomplish a wide range of tasks. These jobs include everything from temporarily covering plantings when a frost is expected, sheltering outdoor furniture, etc. and all accomplished in a more neutral color than vivid blue. The variety of sizes and colors allows for making a good match if designated for a particular purpose. Created with polyethylene fibers it is stated to be coated on both sides along with tear and rip proof so this tarp should provide service for years. ... show more

I use tarps for so many jobs around the house. They cover my wheat straw all winter and I use them for dragging leaves and branches and even stones and rocks around my 3 acres . Rake your leaves onto the tarp and easily drag them off into the woods or garden or wherever you want. And obviously, for covering things outside and also for construction debris and as a paint cloth . You can’t have enough or enough sizes . So this is a great addition to my pile as some are getting near 10 years old and will need replacement. But invest the money , as they last a long time and take a beating. This one has great stitching and grommets for tie down, and I’m sure it will last a long time too. Well made and a fair price 🙏 ... show more
