By sight, this tarp doesn’t look any better or worse than the heavy-duty tarps you can by at your local home improvement stores. In fact, I compared this brown and silver tarp to some of their offerings and they looked like they could be exactly the same tarp. I’ve used these brown and silver heavy-duty tarps for years and can say that they perform well. If these are indeed the same tarps (just rebranded), the only comparison that really matters is price. I got this tarp to replace a tarp that I had used to put under my tent. That tarp was "heavy duty" but had holes in it. I will say this tarp is much more heavy duty than my other tarp claimed to be. Of course we will see how it holds up, but I'm impressed so far. I used this tarp on a winter camp, which I placed directly on snow/ice and then my tent on top of that. Was pleased that no water came through the bottom of the tent. This thing did it's job. Would highly recommend. Of course I will update if things change. ... show more

8x10 is a good size to cover most things like chairs. When it comes to dealing with tarps bigger than that, it starts to become more difficult to do it alone - unless you want that extra length to wrap it around multiple times. This has a good amount of thickness. You can check out my photos

Good quality, heavy duty, multi-purpose tarp. Nice and thick. Reenforced corners and grommets. Waterproof. Comes in a variety of sizes. Can't go wrong with this one.
