This is an excellent quality tarp. I have used many, from the normal "thin" local big box store brands to the heavy and very expensive oiled canvas ones. The thin ones are fine to carry to pull over something to keep it dry, or out of the sun for a few days, or to rake leaves onto. But if pressed into any serious service most won't even last a season. They delaminate almost immediately and will be shredded by the wind in some months. The canvas ones are much better. They will last a few years. But rats and mice like to chew on them as they are fabric and fascinating to them for some reason. They will also eventually break down and get holes in them. They are very expensive, 2 - 3x the cost of this one. This tarp is very thick and very tough. The coatings are excellent. The corners are reenforced and the grommets are solid and will handle a good deal of rope pull with no issues. I have one of these covering my Kobota tractor, which is sitting in my cabin yard. It has lasted at least four years, retaining all of its new properties. Some of the coating have started coming off into the fifth year so I can see a bit of fabric in several spots. I'm not sure if it remains waterproof in those spots. But it is not fraying or tearing at all. So, for my purposes, covering my equipment, it is still serviceable. I bought this one to cover a 20 kw generator and propane supply tank mounted or a trailer. It is going under a shed overhang and I fully expect I will not be replacing this tarp for many years, if ever. This is an excellent product. It's more costly than the cheap paper-thin ones you can buy anywhere. But if it is something you intend to keep and use any length of time one of these will last 5 - 10x as long as the cheap ones if cared for properly. I highly recommend it.

Very sturdy and thick at 16 mils 12x16 feet. I use two tarps to go over my mesh pool cover to keep the sun and rain out of the pool through the winter. One is a 12 mil which you can tell is not as thick and sturdy as this 16 mil one. The grommets are all there and in the right positions. I use hold down screw clips with bungee cords that I got on Amazon and they hold both tarps down securely. Time will tell how long they will last but since they are flat and held down well I think they should last some years. Would recommend this tarp.
