I ordered this TARION Camera Desk Mount Stand Overhead Camera Mount for the sole purpose of doing top down photography. The first one that was delivered would not stay steady and seemed to have been initially delivered to someone else who returned it. Why? Because it was not at all stable, and was partially assembled through the end of the directions at Steps 1 and 2. As I stated, I returned it and the seller sent me a replacement very quickly. Unfortunately, the second stand also had been completed through Steps 1 and 2 so for purposes of this review I will go ahead without being able to attach the articulating arms on the side of the clasp in lieu of the top mount that is necessary with the state in which the unit was again delivered. The attachment of the articulating arms to the base was relatively easy; the parts all fit well together and as far as stability this unit was far superior to the first one that had been shipped - at least until the final step when you are dealing with attaching your camera to the last articulating arm. The most aggravating problem popped up with attempts to connect my Nikon D-750 to the end of the articulating arms. Here you have 2 choices, screw your 2-1/2 lb. camera onto the ballhead and then the ballhead into the last arm; or screw the ballhead onto the last articulating arm and then screw the camera onto the ballhead. Neither method is very comfortable to accomplish - especially when dealing with a setup that costs well north of $2000 which you are trying to screw onto an arm that is bouncing as you rotate the camera around a 1/4-20 screw. Once firmly attached taking pictures from above is easy if, while moving the arms to get the camera where you want, it is a bit scary again because the entire construction is a bit wobbly like a Rube Goldberg set up. However, all in all once over the initial hesitation and worry about using this product with very expensive equipment, I can imagine that people might love it. However, I doubt I will ever be comfortable trusting this wobbly construction to hold my expensive camera equipment in the air. I, therefore, give the TARION Camera Desk Mount Stand Overhead Camera Mount a hesitant and soft 3 stars. I'd you are in the market and purchase this item I just suggest that you be very wary and careful in its use.

This camera mount works perfectly in my home YouTube studio. I have been rearranging things in my studio to try to save a little floor space. Turns out that this camera mount is just what I needed. Now that I have this that's one less tripod taking up space in my studio. It seems to be pretty sturdy. It has no problems holding my Canon t6i DSLR camera, or my mevo start or my gopro. It flexes in the ways that I need it to. Since this worked out great, I decided to get another so that I can get rid of another camera tripod so that I can open up even more floor space in my studio. I'm also thinking about getting one for my gaming setup as well. I would definitely recommend this desk camera mount.

Ive been using this arm for overhead shooting with my Sony A7. It is sturdy enough to hold my camera without sagging and stable enough that it only shakes as much as the table it's on. My only complaint is that it's is a little short for my 50mm lens. It's fine for shooting smaller items like plates of food, but not so much for shooting wider things like an open 8.5x11 notebook without a wide angle lens. You'd need to be able to back off the subject to get it all in the frame with negative space and your setup may not allow it. That's moreso a heads up, though. You may want to consider what setup you'll be using before you purchase. Otherwise, the product itself works well.

This desk/table mount stand is very versatile and can be adjusted in several ways. I personally use the stand for my live streaming microphone, and it works great. It’s attached with a very durable c-clamp to the desk. Once attached, the arms have 4 areas of adjustment so you can place whatever you have mounted to it, in the exact place where you want it. It also can rotate 350 degrees. The arm is very strong and durable, and it locks in place with adjustment knobs that are easy to use. It’s a very good arm at a great price.

The feature I like best is that it attaches to my desk and doesn't take up space, which is why I got this for my mic. I just don't have room for keyboard, mouse, mic and this solves that problem! The parts are very easy to put together and the locking is average. I say average because the joints are plastic while the tubes are metal and I was afraid to tighten too much in case I over achieved and broke plastic. Not that my mic is heavy, I just didn't want any possible drift. The positioning capabilities are varied enough for my mic positioning needs and i just love having my mic off my desk! This has held up quite well for me and I am very happy with it.
