My desk couldn't accept a regular c-clamp due to the way the openings are for cables. With the versatility of the clamp, I can now run an LED light or anything else. The pole is connected to the tightening screw for the clamp itself without issue and seems very stable.

Excellent arm. The fit and finish on this arm and the build quality are both excellent. The ball head in on the top is smooth and sturdy. I would have no reservations about putting any of my equipment on this thing. And the clamp at the bottom is heavy duty. I have several of these types of arms and usually it’s the hardware that ends up being lower quality. This is where the company usually cheeps out. The clamp and particularly the ball head tend to be much inferior to the arm. But not here. Every part of this arm is very well-made and works smoothly. They say the load carrying capacity on this is 2 kg and I believe it. I think it will actually hold much more TEverything about this is very well-made and very sturdy. The arm is built the exact same way a high-quality tripod leg is made. Now the clamp on the bottom isn’t quick release and you can be in a position where you have to turn in a lot and that can be a little annoying but you can be assured that you’re getting a very secure fit. The price may be low and reasonable, but don't think this is a cheap camera stand. I would rate it as a semi-professional extension kit. I will be using this stand to mount my cameras in my small studio to make how-to-videos and take photographs. The kit comes with a lot of accessories which allow you to mix and match components to mount different equipment such as cameras, ring lights, phones etc. Just the C-clamp itself is versatile and small for most portable applications I can think of and coupled with the ball head and spigot adapters the possibilities are endless. The extension telescopic rod, when completely lowered gives you a vertical throw (see pics above) of 18 inches and when fully extended is 28 inches, which covers most scenarios for my video and photography needs. Everything in the kit is well built and a combination of metal and plastic and has a very professional look and feel. It works well with my camera tripod. This is a really nice stand for photography, lighting, etc on a benchtop or the like. The telescoping pole that affixes to the clamp is very smooth and easily locked into place. The C-clamp is pretty solid and it can hold a two pound load without much fanfare. Comes with aluminum screw in adapters that I can only imagine you might want to put on the ball head if you were using lighting. This is pretty decent quality - C-clamp could be a bit more robust... I was excited to receive this camera mount. It’s exactly what I was looking for. My intention was to clamp it to my keyboard stand and attach my phone holder to it to get a good angle for recording my piano playing. I’m sure I would find many other ways to utilize it, however a day after I received it I misplaced it and have not been able to find it yet. That being said, I did get it out of the package and fidget with it for a little bit before losing it and it seems to be very solid. The description says for DSLR. It does work for that, but because it has the standard 1/4-20 bolt mount you can use it for almost any camera you own. So far I have tried a DSLR, a camcorder, a GoPro (generic), a security camera, a trail camera, two different flash units and a video fill light unit. You can use the entire mount, with the pole which extends from 12" to 23-1/22", or just the base unit alone. As you can see in the photos there are many different ways you can mount your camera. With the included extension attachments and the pan tilt device you can also mount two things such as your camera and a flash or fill light. The C clamp style body has indentations on the pads to assist when using this on a round pipe or similar such object. If you need extra height on your tripod, this mount will attach to it and give you that. All the pieces are manufactured of durable aluminum and the craftsmanship is first rate. ... show more

I got this because I was tired of my webcam falling off my thin monitor. But also, I like mounting stuff to my desk, to free up space and etc. So, while it's a bit overkill for a simple-web camera, I may update that to something more serious down the line. The materials are all excellent and feel very sturdy. The clamp is a beast. I love the orange accents. The only problem I had was the length of the threading on the 1/4" ball-joint mount. It came with a thick, orange, baseplate to hold a camera. However, it didn't really leave enough thread exposed to mate with my web camera. I'm not sure if it's just because the threading in my camera is too recessed, or if this is just short. Well, I removed the thick orange plate and then the camera threaded just fine. I suspect that the threading on my camera might just be too recessed. Well, when I upgrade to DSLR I can try again. ... show more
