  • AMAZING value for money!
Color: Light Brown Size: Queen
Truly an amazing bed for an amazing price. So much reminds me of Japanese construction, like you’d get at a Nitori. I’m a single woman who put it together on my own, it was easy to put together with easy to follow instructions. Feels very secure and sturdy. Does not squeak so far, but I’ve only slept in 1 night. Only time will tell on how it holds up. Highly recommend! You can’t get a better value for price in this economy. (I purchased it on a sale/discount season). Queen size bed. ... show more

  • Not a true platform bed and there’s not 16 slats like in the pictures: you will fall into the void
Color: Dark Brown Size: Queen
Not a real platform bed. There’s not enough slats included so you end up needing an extremely thick mattress to use the frame. In fact, I’d go as far as saying you might even need a box spring because I feel like even modestly thick mattress would begin sagging depending on ones weight. There’s also a mismatch between marketing photos and even pictures in reviews. It seems Tansu No Gen frequently changes the design of this bed, but doesn’t update any of the product images or details. For example, it seems like they used to include 16 slats, and in some reviews I’ve seen 14, and the item I received had 12. Hmm, it seems they’re slowly decreasing how many slats and maybe keeping the same price while taking away materials? Interesting… How many slats will you get? 10? Maybe 8 in a couple more years. You’ll be lucky to use this frame with a 20” thick reinforced mattress. I’m extremely disappointed. I figured a platform bed made in Japan would be of high quality, “intelligently designed” as the company claims, and also supportive of shikibuton setups since they’re a popular tradition in Japan and what platform beds are generally for. If I could go back in time I wouldn’t spent a little extra money buying one of the cheaper beds from Comfort Pure. They’re an American brand that ironically, somehow makes better frames for shikibutons than this Japanese company. Furthermore, I contacted the seller and requested more slats since a lot of mine were bowed and there obviously wasn’t enough. Despite them showing 16 slats in photos, claiming this bed can be used with futons, and claiming you don’t need a box spring and the slat system is “intelligently designed”. However, they refused to send me extra slats claiming “we cannot send spare parts”. Even though apparently some reviewers have gotten screws and various parts sent when needed. So what constitutes spare parts? My bed is literally unusable and I cannot sleep because I’m being sucked into the void that is the “intelligently designed slats”. Perhaps this is what they meant, the slats are intelligent in that as you sleep they will intelligently drag you into the void and contort your spine like a sentient demon. Don’t cheap out on a bed frame. Especially if you’re on the thinner side with you’re sleeping layers. This seller claims you can use futons and the AI overview on Amazon also says you can use futons which means the seller obviously has very much portrayed that this frame is futon compatible. And if that weren’t enough I have proof of the seller telling me how to make the frame better with futons since they refused to send more slats. But notice, they never told me not to use their frame with a futon. Which means, you should be able to and yet, you cannot. Utterly ridiculous. All this could be remedied by them simply including another half bundle of slats which would likely cost them around $20 if even for a big company like this. They could even just raise the price $20 or have two different versions of the frame one with extra slats and one without. Or hey here’s an idea, how about simply selling extra slats? It’s ridiculous that a company selling a mattress frame wouldn’t be able to source extra similar slats so that the frame can be used with futons like the seller claims. I offered to pay for shipping and the slats and was still declined. Even though some of the slats I got were hardly even in proper condition. Warped and bend and somewhat moldy. I thought honor was big in Japan and that’s why I generally am obsessed with Japan and love a lot or their high quality goods and imports. However, this company proved and made me realize my foolishness and naivety. There’s scammers everywhere, even in Japan unfortunately. I would not order this frame ESPECIALLY if you’re constructing a traditional shikibuton setup. Heck, I wouldn’t get this frame if your mattress is under 8”. Unless you like being sucked into the void by intelligent slats, lol. Just save up a little more and get something that’s actually good. A company that actually means it when they say you don’t need a box spring and are transparent about how much of a gap is in between the slats. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY THIS
Worst product ever. Did not even last me a full year. Trust me there has not been any “aggressive” movement on this bed and yet the strews undid by themselves and it’s just coming apart. DON’T BUY THIS.
