This is FABULOUS tanner! It is not orangey colored, and has a very mild scent. The mousse version dried super fast, and I used the dark version and it was instantly tan. I could smooth out the areas to avoid streaks by seeing the color tone as I spread it around. I washed my hands thoroughly to remove the tanner from turning them too dark. I had the best tan I have had in a very long time, and I have used many sunless tan products over the years. This one looked like a genuine tan, and lasted almost a whole week and still looked good at the end of the week. I did use lotion to keep my skin from getting too dry and to extend the life of the tan. This is now my go-to tanner. The price is decent too. I tried the face drops and they made my face break out, but I put the mousse on my face and haven’t had any problems with it. Hope this product stays around because I am now addicted to it.     • Great for cool undertones

This self Tanner has a green base which is ideal for those with cool undertones (pink and red tones to skin) as it cancels out the orange. This is the 1 hour express and it’s very true to that factor in regard to color development. In my opinion there is no need to leave it on for more than 1 hour because you’ll end up orange no matter what. I have pale olive skin that tans very with Mediterranean features so this tanner is perfect for me. The only issue is that because it develops so well in only 1 hour it’s hard to blend it around the wrist and on the hands. For my hands add the tanner after the 30 minute mark so the tanner is only on my hands for 30 minutes. This is the best way to avoid a bad tan on the hands. Also make sure you moisturize the hands and wrist area really good before applying the tanner. Same with feet. Also the longevity of this tanner is really good, it last a decent time. ... show more

I recently underwent a kidney transplant and can no longer use a tanning bed because of the extremely high risk of skin cancer with my immunosuppressant medication. There are so many self tanners out there that I couldn’t believe it. I came upon this product and I am not being paid for this review but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I even tried a professional spray tan and it didn’t come close. I am now saving $50 a month. This product is amazing. Please please do yourself a favor and try it. No orange. No streaks. No fading. It doesn’t come off on things you touch and look like a crime scene. I’ve tried them all. This one is the absolute best one by far. It’s inexpensive and a thick dark mousse foam. I cried when the doctor told me , No more bed tanning. Now, I cry because I wish I found this sooner. The old ones were smelly nasty and look fake. This looks better than the professional, I kid you not. Just purchase a tanning mitt for a few dollars that way it will not get all over your hands.     • The best self tanner I have ever used!
I love this self tanner. It is just strong enough to give you solid color that lasts after you shower but not too dark that it leaves your skin with dark splotches. The color is very natural looking too. I had been using the Tanologist water drops for awhile and even the dark was not dark enough. I would have to use 30 drops or more to cover my torso legs and arms. The color was subtle. This being ‘extra dark’ is more pronounced but I’m sure even the dark would be darker than the dark drops. The bottle seems like it will last a least a month with daily use, while the drops only lasted about 2-3 weeks max and are basically the same price. I definitely wear vinyl gloves to apply this and you need to be aggressive with your brushing so it goes on evenly. But it shows up very dark on your skin so you can easily see where it has been applied and then the initial color fades after a few minutes (I think that’s the “color guide”). It does stick a little more than desired to my knees and knuckles but I apply moisturizer prior to application and rub them with a towel after applying and that does help. It’s a little sticky after application but that seems to go away after a bit and it doesn’t come off on sheets. ... show more

first, I've been self tanning for probably 10-12 years now, so I'm far from a first timer. I loved the spray water version of this tanner so I wanted to try the mousse after seeing online that people like it. Now, I did leave this on longer than the 1-4 hours, so keep that in mind, this stuff is DARK, this is probably the darkest developing self tan I'v ever used. The reason I gave 3 stars is I don't feel the tone of this tanner is for me, it does pull orange and ont op of it being so so dark, I feel that it looks odd and not natural (don't get me wrong I love a deep tan its not that). So I would definitely not recommend leaving this on longer than 1-4 hours max (I've done this with other "express" tanners and it does not do this). It also does not seem to fade easily, I've taken 2 showers and it still seems to just be getting darker almost. Just be warned this stuff is dark and it stays put even if you scrub so I'm not sure i'd recommend this to a beginner. ... show more

I've used most of the big brand self tanners in the "extra dark" variety. I was excited about this one because it's the first that didn't give off such a strong smell from the DHA reaction on the skin. It had a light scent that was a lot more tolerable. However, that was the only pro. The tan developed pretty uneven despite me doing my standard exfoliate + tan routine. I had untanned spots that definitely were covered in mousse. Not sure if this formula rubs off easier in sleep or what. But then the fade-off was the WORST i've ever experience. It faded on most of my body/face is 2-3 days, but stuck to my ankles, neck and armpits like permanent dye. I've never had a self-tanner be so stubborn on those parts before. It's normal to have to exfoliate extra on those areas, but i couldnt get this one off for close to 1.5 weeks, and not in a good way. It was that ugly orange dry skin but so much more stubborn than other products where you can remove it with exfoliation in 5-7 days. ... show more

I was skeptical about self tanner for the longest time. I am a person that tans dark naturally and has an olive complexion, but ive been becoming more conscious about my skins health as I get older and wear a LOT of sunscreen which has been leaving me paler than I typically look, especially in summer. Was recommended this product to get my beach ready look before vacation and honestly this tanner gave me the perfect bronzy tone the very first time. I kept it on for 3 hours, moisturized right after, and I am really happy with the results. My first application lasted 6 days until it was visibly starting to fade, and that was with moisturizing twice daily. Highly recommend for anyone that wants the sunkissed look without soaking in too much UV. ... show more
