This was my first time using a self tanner and it worked very well for me. It had a pleasant smell to it during the application process (unlike the typical spray tan smell). This tanning lotion gave me a nice and natural tan with the first coat but, because I was using it for a dance competition, I applied a second coat to make it a bit darker. The color takes about 6-8 hours to fully develop so I put it on after my night-time shower and let it do its magic while I slept. It didn't stain any clothes or sheets. I received several compliments on how natural my tan looked. I found it relatively easy to apply to my skin with the mitt. I only used the smaller mitt on my face as I could easily use the bigger one for the rest of my body. The color of the lotion is white and it doesn't have a guide color so you need to make sure that you rub it in thoroughly and evenly. I recommend testing it out on a body part/area that you can easily cover to get practice in before applying to your entire body. Don't forget to shave your skin at least one or more hours prior to applying the tanner so that it doesn't collect in your pores/irritate your skin and remember to exfoliate your whole body just prior to applying the tanner. Hands and feet are tricky because the skin is dryer than the rest of the body so they can absorb more of the tanner and get darker than you want, especially around your knuckles. I put a thick layer of lotion on my fingers, elbows, knees, ankles, and toes to prevent overly dark/dirty looking skin and that worked well for me. I also used a make-up remover wipe on the palms of my hands, over my finger and toe nails, and over my knuckles after I applied the tanner so that those areas wouldn't get too dark. I used the tanner on my face and it did not cause me to break out at all (I have combination/oily skin). I was a bit worried that it would fade horribly on my face as the skin under my eyes can get really dry and the spray tans I have gotten in the past have faded poorly in this area. However, it faded seamlessly across my entire body and I was rather pleased. The tan lasted me about 7 days (after I applied the second coat of tanner) before I exfoliated it all off. My face did fade faster (only lasted about 4-5 days because I had to wear full face make-up every day for the competition so it got scrubbed more thoroughly than the rest of my body) but I was easily able to hide the color difference with make-up.

i am giving this a premature review and will update in the morning once tan has fully developed! So my holy grail has always been josie marans argan liquid gold tanning oil. I had ran out and wanted to venture off to try another organic brand that is good for your skin. As i am currently pregnant so it is important i tried a brand that is good for your skin. I shook this tube as well as possible, will not lie i am no beginner to self tanning but the white cream did scare me a bit as there is no tracker. I had exfoliated the morning of, moisturized my skin from head to toe making sure to give attention to the tough skin the best. Tonight i moisturized my entire body again. Waited for it to settle in real well and also on my knee caps, elbows, cuticles etc. i then applied a thin layer of Bag Balm. Let that settle and then began the tan! This makes all the difference in those areas! I started from the bottom and worked my way up. I was very thorough and on the areas you apply a thinner layer i buffed them all out very well with a makeup brush (as usual) along to my face/hairline as well. .i also took the face mitt and used that to buff those areas as i don't think i will be actually using it for my face. I like the idea of an extra small buffer for my feet, ankles etc. So that came in handy. I highly recommend getting the cream woth the mitt set. For my back i used my self tanning back applicator for the stubborn middle area that's almost impossible to get too, again blending extremely well. The cream blends/spread pretty well. It didn't seem to go on patchy or anything . The smell to me as applying in my opinion is great! It is a subtle vanilla coconut and most definitely nothing artificial smelling. If you have a sensitive nose you will be able to handle this i promise! I am also currently 26 weeks pregnant so if i think the smell is subtle, it definitely is!! Now i just hope it doesn't turn into your usual corn chip smell as it starts to set. I applied before bed so once my review is posted i will revise it and to give my final first thoughts. Fingers crossed it's a winner in my book. You can never go wrong with finding another self tanner you like. So far i was pleasantly surprised and i enjoyed my night of pampering. *********************** UPDATE - i woke up with the most Beautiful tan. Very little streaking, no orange color..beautiful natural bronze shade. It paid off to be extra thorough. As i said blend, blend, blend. I always take a makeup brush and blend the harder areas extra well and i never have an issue. I will say if you have bruises anywhere this will add to the color. So don't be overwhelmed if you think you were the one that wasn't careful enough. In the winter i always get dry cracked skin on ny hands and i have permanent marks from them. So no matter what self tanner i use my hands always look a bit off. It just is what it is..i make sure to go lighter on them and blend extra well. I just applied another round . So far i am really liking it and depending on how the next several trials go i will stick with this one. I am almost in my 3rd trimester and i don't get to be in the sun enough. This self tanner gets the job done in very little time. If you are on the fence just try it. For the price the size is very good and there is a lot of lotion in it. I hope my review helps others!

I have tried many, many tanning lotions. I have also done the spray tans at the salon but that gets pricey fast. Decided to try this based on the reviews. Got the gloves with the lotion, GET THE MIT! I wasnt sure they would make much of a difference but the mit absolutely is a must and I will use every time!! I mixed with my normal body lotion in a small bowl (1:1 ratio) and it looks completely natural, even on my face where I also did a 1:1 with face cream. Directions, IN MY OPINION leave a little to be desired if you're new to self tanning. Here is how I achieve my results which is a 2 day process: 1. Day prior to application, bathe, exfoliate skin, and shave. 2. Next day, wash with NO exfoliation, use hands. Pat dry, do not rub, finish with air drying, I typically wait until skin neutralizes = few hours. 3. After skin is dry, Apply body lotion to places with looser or dryer skin, hands/wrists, elbows, knees, ankles and toes. 4. I mixed tanner with body lotion for my first attempt with this product so 1:1 ratio, and began with the calf, skip feet for the end. in circular motions, rub in the mixture. I was generous with the mixture so do not be shy with it, doing so will only leave places that streak from lack of product. Partner did my back with same technique. Skip hands, and knees and elbows and toes until the end. 5. 1:1 with tanner and face cream, with small glove, in circular motions, apply to face and neck, as close to hair line- i even went into hairline some. keep rubbing keep rubbing, including ears. 6. Lastly, I removed glove, applied some to hands, elbows, toes, and other parts that i skipped, then IMMEDIATELY washed hands. Took a makeup remover wipe and in circular motions, removed from elbow, knees, wrists, ankles, between toes, and forearms, its more natural to have forearms that are lighter than top sides of arm.. 7. Wait until dry, took about 30 mins before i could climb into bed. 8. MY ONLY COMPLAINT, which is with every tanner i have ever used, is the smell, classic fake tan smell. UPDATE: 3 DAYS LATER. I am due for another application. I am at the gym religiously and sweat which I believe may play a role in this. Recommended stay time is 4-7 days. Only 4 days if you sweat a lot. Wear is semi even, noticeable to me. UPDATE 2: Tried lotion without diluting it with body lotion. turned out very dark, a slight orange tint but not enough to bother me. Will continue to use 1:1 ratio and tanner lasts much longer doing it this way and zero orange.

Great product! I purchased this product to give myself a glow for a wedding and loved the results. Be careful around your ankles!! I love that the tanner does wash off with each shower so you don’t turn orange.

UPDATE 3.5 stars - a rep named Crystal from Beauty by Earth reached out to me and offered me a refund. Crystal informed me that if color development is any sort of orangey, that means the shade is too dark for and one would need to shade down. I also learned some people are sensitive to the DHA or the Camellia Oleifera (Japanese Green Tea) Leaf Extract ingredient and dont know until they try it. I rated them higher than before because of their promptness to ensure all their customers are satisfied. at first this tanner seemed promising with the natural marketing, but the moment I applied, it was downhill. I’m never bothered by the smell of tanners because they are after all chemicals. the initial smell of coconut and vanilla was pleasant but later it turned to a faint but lingering vomit-like smell. the product is advertised that it can be applied with your hands as long as you wash them immediately after, but there is still an orange tint left regardless of how much you scrub. the cream is really thick and is difficult to blend in regardless of how little is applied and circular motions. only minutes on and parts of my body starting itching and turning pink. I read a few reviews sharing similar symptoms, but I didn’t think I would be affected since my skin isn’t sensitive. I immediately showered but the unpleasant smell lingered till the following day. I was hopeful for this product but ultimately would not recommend. I had better success with tanners like St. Tropez

I love how a tan can make you feel confident and pretty! I used to tan in tanning beds for years, and I missed that feeling and look of being tanned and was thinking about going back to the tanning bed, but didnt want the possibilities of my skin looking horrible if I couldnt keep up with it now that I am older. I then decided to check out the best self tanners and read tons and tons of reviews on about 5 different products and kept coming back to this one. The bottle is big, so that was a plus, and mine came with an exfoliating mitt, a face/finger mitt and a full body mitt. I have to disagree with some of the reviews about the smell. In my opinion I think its best to put this on in the morning like on a weekend, do whatever you have to do that day and shower that night. At first the smell isnt bad, but you can smell that self tanner stench all over your sheets and your body if you sleep with it on and shower in the morning. If you put it on in the morning you will definitely notice Your tan developing after a few hours. At first I was nervous because it looked quite dark, a little too much, but the bronzer or top color (whatever it is) comes off in the shower. You might think that its all coming off, but once you have toweled off you will be VERY happy with the color. Other than that one disadvantage about the "self tanner stink" it goes on really well and looks even when put on with the mitt. (Highly reccomend this to apply it) also there is no guide to this lotion to tell where you have put it on, but even without it, the results were a real natural looking tan. Not orange and not streaky either. I would definitely reccomend this product.

Favorite self-tanner, but it does have the “self-tanner” smell after about one hour into it. Definitely use the mitt, my palms turned an awkward color at first application. No transfer whatsoever, and the best color I’ve received from a self-tanner before. Highly recommend.
