I thought a number of these cheaper and propane hot water heaters. The funny thing is if you hook up a garden hose to them they don't leak and they work fine but when you're trying to hook up half inch PEX to them you have to use the rubber washers inside and tighten the hell out of them and the ones that are not made well often the outlet will snap. This one is made a little better than most of the ones on the cheaper end and you can tighten it a great deal without breaking it. I was able to hook it up with no leaks and it worked instantly and stays running and that's really all you can ask. ... show more

This was an easy unit to setup and the performance is good. Being portable and geared towards camping showers, there should be a way to easily turn off the water. As it is , you need to turn of the source supply in order to stop the water flowing, or add a valve at the source or hot water. If they added a water flow on/off on the shower head would work as well. I think having to rely on 2 D size batteries also could be adjusted. maybe clips to connect to a 12v dc supply or even a 3v or 6v supply would be beneficial because if you are camping you may want to use solar power or a car battery or whatever and not have to lug around extra D batteries. The top of the unit dies get very hot and cant be hooked to a vent and the unit needs to be installed outside. The adapters include are great, but they should also have a female to female coupler so you can hook up to a garden hose otherwise you have to use your own coupler or use a leader hose which is what I had to use. Cheap, works good. Installed this on my hotdog cart for a hand washing sink. Installed easy enough, works well. Adjustments give a range of options. Even if it doesn't last more than a season or two, it's still a good deal

    • It never worked, and apparently the vendor doesn't care.
The unit I got, never would work. No striker sound, no electronic temperature display. When I wrote about this requesting an exchange the vendor wrote right back......And has since ghosted me with no return exchange or refund instructions. Can't say I'd ever do business with them again.
