Works extemely well, very simple to install!! Small and compact but packs a big punch. It says not recommended to be tied in the grid but i disagree. It can!!! Ive done it and to be safe installed water cut off valves and hose splitter that was already on my old water heater. That allows you to use cold and hot like normal and can shut water off from unit inside in case of emergency. Instead of pulling out the old water heater, i kept it there so i could mount the on demand directly over it since it was already a heat shield making it safe to permanently mount. Everything can be taken off within 5 minutes if need be. I recommend doing the same saving you time and energy making something to mount as well as removing the water heater tank cutting paneling and recaulking. Its not worth it just to get a small box size amount of room freed up under the sink. I also made a makeshift rain gaurd. Runs off 2 D size batteries, no wiring involved. Endless hot water in the whole home, kitchen sink, bathroom sink, bath/shower. This unit is on par with thousand dollar systems for almost nothing. If you are on a budget its what you need do not waste your time with a bulky expensive leaky tank ever again!! Save save save it can be done!! ... show more

I love this thing. Just had my first outdoor shower in 4 years that I actually enjoyed. The pressure was consistent, customizable, and strong enough for my thick curly hair. Install was a breeze. I’m questioning the quality of the finish on the shwoer head- it’s clearly cheap and pealing. The shower head stand it comes with doesn’t even fit the head. I paid a lot for this and to think I could have a hot shower was exciting! After I recieved and set it up, it worked great! I live in Fl where hot water is not that big of deal during the day, but at night it gets chilly, so being wet with out heat can suck. So the first couple times I used the product it worked great. Then about the 4th use ( of heat) i started to have to take the battery out and push it back in to get it to ignite! I figure it was an easy fix, so I took a look at it everything looked good. So I just taped the dang thing I place to keep it from falling short on its connection. A week later it just stopped heating all together. I replaced the gas, witch was full, replaced the gas line, checked it all out but for some reason it will not allow the gas to come through . So now here it is waaaaaay past my time to return for replacement, and I am back to cold showers . I really only used the heater maybe 10 times in the months I have had it. So not happy about the amount of money it cost me. So buyer be aware!! ... show more

Very efficient design, almost no heat comes out of the exhaust. Heats water in the 50s F to hot shower temps in seconds even on a low setting. Ignites perfect with lithium usb-c rechargeable "D" batteries. Replaced fitting with industry standard propane and water quick connect so it's actually portable and fits in a backpack. Having the connected propane line dangling everywhere was comical, and so was having to screw/unscrew all the hoses. I hardly ever leave reviews, but this item deserves it. Has worked flawlessly since purchased 10/27/2022. The only time it didn't is when the burners filled with sand and the batteries got low. This is not the fault of the unit, but a maintenance oversight(I live in the desert). Very hot water, reliable ignition, nice build. ... show more

I used this heater as an alternative for my electric pool heater. I've attached a pump to it, which is controller by a thermostat. Finding the right pump proved to be difficult. The heater lists an output of 1.32gpm, but in order to get that you'll need a way stronger pump, which is then strained by the bottleneck effect of the water heater. It does not always turn on automatically. When it doesn't, all you need to do is nudge the water pressure knob and it will turn on. Installation was easy. Make sure you also order D-cell batteries as they are not supplied. You will also need to get hose adapters at home depot (or similar). I found working ones in the irrigation section, not in the plumbing section. Oh, and don't install this inside a home without venting. Don't just install it next to a window, as the manufacturer claims is safe. It is not safe, and it will break U.S. building codes. You run the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
