I enjoyed the water heater while it was functioning. It took a while to dial in the controls(which were labeled backwards), but once everything was set, it ran well and consistently. I ran the unit conservatively and it was surprisingly efficient. During the last week that the unit was functioning it began to turn on and off intermittently during use. Finally the unit ceased to turn on at all. I replaced the batteries, tested the propane tank separate from the unit(functioned as normal), and did basic troubleshooting of the unit itself with no success. The unit was supplied with 60psi, potable city/county tap water. I live in Hawaii and the unit never went through any weather extremes. I'm typically happy to repair all my own things without pestering the manufacturer but under these circumstances I didn't want to void a potential warranty because the unit didn't look easily serviceable. I suspect the unit has a water flow sensor that failed. I've had it for less than a year and only installed it about 6 months ago. In that time I used about 30 pounds of propane before the unit failed. I can't seem to find anyway to contact the seller/manufacturer about warranty. If the seller contacts me to help resolve the failed unit I will adjust my review accordingly. As it stands I will only rate it 1-star as the unit should have lasted for more than 6 months, and 30 pounds of propane, use. ... show more

I used this for a few years to speed heat my inflatable hot tub. It takes a 6 person hot tub(280 gallons) from 62 degrees to 103 degrees in about 1.5 hours. Propane is cheaper than electricity in my area and it takes $2-3 in propane to heat my hot tub 40 degrees. Then I maintain heat with electric water heater. After 3 years out in the exposed weather the paint is starting to peel. The tiny filter in the water line input needs to be cleaned or checked often as a clogged filter reduces pressure at the flow detector(which needs 5 psi to activate the burner) and prevents the unit from firing. This 18L propane heater is great though. If using as a camp shower just be careful of how hot it can get with low flow and high heat settings. ... show more

My hot water heater works great!!! I have it on the outside of my food trailer. But can someone please tell me how to keep it from freezing bursting. Im doing something wrong. These are pretty cool setups I was purchasing this one to replace another one come to find out it wasn't the heater that was bad it was a restriction in my waterline to the heater now that I fixed that it works very well it keeps pretty good track of a consistent temperature it does fluctuate a little bit probably 3 or four degrees of variation you can feel it but it's not extreme it works off of a couple of D cell batteries so there's no wiring and the settings are fairly easy to set comes with pretty much zero instructions but it is very easy and labeled well for all I would say this is a pretty damn cool setup mine is installed on my 2010 camper and works very well but my camper also is stationary I'm not sure exactly how you would go about putting it into a regular camper for travel because of the way that the chimney works and the fact that it needs to be mounted vertical but overall it's awesome we have two teenage girls that have to take 45 minute hot showers every morning so it works very well for that also thought since I have an extra one of these of setting it up to fill my hot tub with hot water because at home I have a standard hot water heater and it runs out after 50 gallons and I need 300 plus I haven't set it up to do that yet but I think that's going to be what I'm doing with the old one that didn't have anything wrong with it that I replaced the old one was three years old and worked well just the water flow would cause it to turn off and on and off and on because I had inadequate flow ... show more

Product arrived well packaged in styrofoam. Put (2) D Cell batteries in the battery compartment so that they are in series (positive up in back and postiive down in front with common strip on Battery door. Connected, shower head, propane and water, turned on micro switch (Which was not fully installed into metal chassis)....Nothing but cold water....no clicking of igniter or LCD display lights or anything. Was about to box up and send back when I though about the power switch not being seated properly. I unscrewed the 4 screws from the unit face plate and removed, inspecting micro switch wire connector inside unit. It all was connected seemingly correctly. Then I noticed one of the power wires from the battery box was disconnected. I plugged the loose red wire to the spade connector on the battery box and still nothing. Then I noticed the available spade connnector was on the negative side of the battery pack. The blue wire was plugged into the positive side. I switched the power wires to the correct sides and tested the unit, instantly, the ignitor clicked and propane ignited. If this unit was wired the same as the others in the production run, none of the units will function correctly. They all need to be recalled and inspected before shipping. Incorrect wiring when propane gas is involved is inviting an explosion or fire, and lets face it, most consumers can't trace wires and troubleshoot this type of equipment. ... show more

This tankless hot water heater worked very well for us at a horse show where they did not have hot water. If you plan on using it like we did you need to get fittings for a standard water hose, it had a small shower hose, not enough pressure for washing a horse. Other than that it work great.
