    • The Only Detangling Brush I’ve Used for Years (Shoulder-Length to Waist-Length Hair)

I’ve tried a lot of brushes over the years, but this is the one I keep coming back to. In fact, it’s the only detangling brush I use regularly now, and I don’t have any plans to switch. For context, I have tightly coiled hair, and I’ve grown my hair from roughly shoulder length to waist length while using this brush as my primary detangling tool. Obviously no brush can magically make your hair grow, but I do think this brush has helped with length retention because it allows me to remove shed hair efficiently without being overly rough on my strands. One thing I think many people miss is that there is a learning curve. I only use this brush on wet, conditioned hair, and I’ve found that using it vertically rather than horizontally makes a huge difference. Once I learned how to work with the brush instead of against it, detangling became significantly easier. What I like most is that it seems to get all the way down to the root, where shed hairs often accumulate. Some curl-specific brushes feel like they’re detangling effectively, but they don’t fully remove those shed hairs. Others have ball-tipped bristles that can snag on my hair. This brush avoids both of those issues for me. I know this brush isn’t universally loved, and I suspect that’s partly because it takes some experimentation to figure out the technique that works best for your hair type. But once I learned how to use it properly, it became a wash-day staple. If this brush disappeared tomorrow, I’d immediately buy another one. It’s one of the few hair tools I’ve used consistently for years, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a gentle but effective way to detangle textured hair. ... show more

I have stick-straight, fine, longer-than my-bottom THICK hair. I havw tried LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE Tangle Teezer brush that is marketed by Tangle Teezer. Not a one came CLOSE to working through my hair when DRY and minimally tangled (I sleep with it loosely braided in a mulberry silk bonnet), requiring at MINIMUM of 45 minutes and sectioning my hair inti TWELVE sections to get the "Straight-to-Curly" Ultimate detangler through my very thick, very long, straight hair. The "Straight-and-Fragile" brush was an absolute joke. So, I bought the Curly-Coily brush. 5 minutes, start to finish, and my hair was thoroughly cleared of anyrhing resembling a tangle, and my natural scalp oils were beautifully distributed. I'll be using it in the shower this evening, and I am absolutely confident that this brush will perform AMAZINGLY, even with my hair soaked, to comb consitionwrs ans treatments theough my ridiculously fine but thick hair. I will say that persons with straight hair who have tender or sensitive scalps do need to be careful about using this brush. The bristles are SIGNIFICANTLY stiffer (which is what I, personally, needed), and could (will) be VERY harsh on the scalp. I STRONGLY recommend that straight haired persons START with the Tangle Teezwr Ultimate Detanglers designed fir straight hair. The "Fine and Fragile" I gifted to my daughter, as it is outstanding for my toddler grandchildren, but absolutely USELESS unleaa you have extremely thin and fine straight hair. The briatles are EXTREMELY soft and pretty useless on typical adult straight hair. The Tangle Teezer Ultimate Detangler for Straight-Curly hair has medium stiff briatles. For most people with straight to slightly wavy hair, this brush will be your holy grail. This model, for my naturally stick-straight,well-beyond-hip length hair, which is fine, but INCREDIBLY thick, took a ridiculously intense amount of work and time to BARELY gwt through my hair, and was completely useless whwn my hair was wet. So, I took the plunge with the Curly-Coily, ans holy cow, the magic I had seen and heard of Tangle Teezer bruahes happen. I fwel asleep laat night with wet, uncombed hair, tha had become a thick mat when my Curly-Coily brush came in this morning. It took me longer to get it out of the Amazon and prosuct packaging than it did to get theoufh my hair, and it did so with almost zero shedding or breakage, and slid easily theough the mats and tangles with no pulling or pain. It took about 5 minutes to brush through ALL my hair, left it gleaming, soft, and shining, and what little hair that was in the brush briatles came right out with a simple rinse, making cleaning anabaolute breeze. Thia brush is 100% my Holy Grail hairbrush, and I plan to acquire a few of these brushes, hopefully in a large and mini size, but yeah, abaolutely lived up to the stories and advertisements I've seen. 10 stars, and ABSOLUTELY will be acquiring more of these brushes! ... show more

This brush works! Yeah it hurts but it gets all the knots and tangles out real quick. I have thick curly hair and with my old brush, It would take me 30 minutes to untangle my hair. It’s a ruff brush but beauty hurts right? lol as long it does what it says, I have no problem with it.

Good for detangling and brush styling, pretty color and good grip. The bristles are nice and detangle fast. I have very thick hair and a lot of it, it’s around 3c-4a and some parts 4b. It’s a decent size and okay to clean.
